University Racing Eindhoven (URE)

University Racing Eindhoven (URE) URE is a team of about 75 students from the TU/e. In one year a complete new car is designed, built

University Racing Eindhoven, URE for short, is the largest student project of the Eindhoven University of Technology. The URE team consists of more than 50 talented students, mostly coming from the faculties Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Industrial Design. Besides that, the team is complemented by interns from universities of applied sciences and sever

al exchange students. The goal of the multidisciplinary team is to design, build, test and race an electric racecar in just one year. During summer the team competes in the international Formula Student competition, the
biggest and most prestigious engineering competition worldwide. During these events the car and team are tested on design, quality and knowledge about the car. The students learn to work in a large team and to bring theory from their studies into practice. They are brought together by a passion for technology, which results in a faster, more efficient and more
reliable racecar every year.

Meet The Board:

Hi! I'm Simon Arends, and I'm thrilled to be the Accumulator and Vehicle Dynamics manager of URE this year. I'm 21 years old and I'm studying mechanical engineering. I joined the team during my second year to apply my engineering skills and gain practical experience. I decided to do a full-time board year to improve on both my hard and soft skills. Accumulator and vehicle dynamics are the perfect match as they offer multidisciplinary engineering challenges. I can't wait to overcome many challenges and create the URE19 together with the team!

Hi! My name is Myron Lurvink and this year I will be the Chassis and Control manager. I'm 21 years old and I'm studying Mechanical Engineering. I joined the team last year to apply my engineering knowledge in a practical setting. This year I took up the challenge of a full-time board position, driven by my desire to understand the entire car-building process from a management perspective. I am confident that we can achieve great things as a team!

Meet The Board:

Hi! My name is Matthijs Wijmans and I will be this year's Powertrain and Aerodynamics manager. I'm 21 years old, and I'm studying Automotive Technology. I joined the Aerodynamics department two years ago to learn something new besides my studies. This year I decided to do a full-time year at URE to gain more experience on the management side of the project. Additionally, I wanted to be involved with something that is more in line with my studies, thus the powertrain side of the car is the perfect fit. I look forward to designing, building and testing the car together with this great team!

Hi! My name is Wouter Litjens and I will be this year's Overall-tech and Drivetrain manager. I'm 21 years old, and I'm studying Mechanical Engineering. I joined the Drivetrain department two years ago to challenge myself and my engineering skills in the biggest student competition in the world, which results now in my full-time year. My personal goal is to broaden myself as an engineer by learning more about all facets of the car. I am eager to start concepting, designing and producing the URE19 together with the team!

Meet the Board :

Hi! My name is Tess Rademaker and I will be the Financial & Operations Manager of the URE19. Next to that I will be the Cost & Manufacturing Manager. I'm 22 years old and I'm doing my Bachelor Mechanical Engineering. This will be my first year at the team, because I wanted to do a full time year at a student team and I am a big fan of Formula One. My personal goals are to develop my soft skills and learn more about motorsport. I am so excited about the upcoming year and building the URE19 with my fellow board members!

Hi! My name is Esmee Tetteroo and this year I will be the Teammanager of URE. Next to that I will be the Acquisition Manager and Business Manager. I'm 21 years old and I'm studying computer science. In my second year I decided to join URE, because of my interest in motorsport. I have been a part time member of the team for the past two years now. This year I decided to put my studies on a hold to take on a fulltime position in the board. Where my personal goal is to get more women into motorsport. I look forward to building the URE19 with the team!

Already since we built the URE07, Prodrive has supported us in the development of multiple generations of the URE powertrain. Namely, the inverters and Battery Management System. The currently running project with Prodrive is the production and testing of a quad motor controller that will be much lighter and more efficient than the previous generation.

Thank you Prodrive Technologies for your support as our partner!

FSG Day 6 & 7! 🇩🇪

On day 6 we we started out with the DV Trackdrive. Unfortunately, the car did not follow the cones smoothly due an error, and was stopped.

After the DV Trackdrive attempt, some technical problems were spotted before heading to the EV Autocross. In the end, the issues were resolved, but only after the closing time of the EV Autocross. This meant we were unable to drive this event.

In the evening, we had the first Award Ceremony. Here, we got second place for the Matlab Modeling and Simulation Award!

On day 7, we were first in the queue for the EV Endurance event. It had rained during the night, so the track conditions were wet, but our pace was really good. However, we came to a stop during the third lap, due to losing brake pressure. This meant the end of the event for us.

In the evening we have the second award ceremony, and afterwards we will celebrate with all the teams!

This concludes FSG and the overall race season for this year. URE is very proud of our team for their work and effort! We also want to give a big thanks to our partners, specifically UFe for sponsoring our trip to FSG!

FSG Day 5! 🇩🇪

Day 5 started with the Driverless Acceleration. We started queuing from 6 o’clock in the morning to make sure we were the first in line. Unfortunately, we did not successfully finish our runs there.

Then, again problems arose when attempting the Driverless Autocross. We are now looking into the data for what went wrong during the driverless events today, and are working on a solution for the last driverless event tomorrow.

Then we drove the EV Skidpad. Here, our driver really showed the capabilities of the car, finishing at the 6th overall place with a very good time of 4.84 seconds!

The EV Acceleration event also took place today. Again, we set a good time at this event, nearly breaking the URE record from FSN in Assen this year, with a run of 4.69 seconds.

Tomorrow, we will do the Driverless Trackdrive and EV Autocross.

A big thanks to UFe for sponsoring our trip to FSG!
