The Mercedes Benz S-class, introduced in 1972 as the W116 series. Ever since, the Sonderklasse is synonymous for ultimate luxury and innovation in the automotive industry. Nowadays the W116 has grown into a stylish icon.

How awesome is this? Petrol Avenue scored a genuine, all-original 1983 Alfasud! Yes, it has some rust (it’s an Italian classic, duh) but is the incredible Quadrifoglio Oro version. For the connoisseurs: 1.5 liter boxer engine in the front which produces 70 kW/95 pk thanks to two twin-Dell’Orto carburetors. It also produces a fantastic noise by the way.

Our lovely Alfetta on its way to the paint shop!

The underside of the car has already been restored to excellent condition by the previous owner, but the body needed some TLC: The corners of the windshield and the rear window are the usual suspects. We have just picked up the car from the welder and now it is ready for a new coat of paint. In a few weeks the Alfetta will be back from the paint shop, looking all shiny and new.

We got curious to check out if the engine of our Alfetta is healthy or if any mechanical repair will be needed. Bear in mind that this car hasn’t run at all in the last 5 years. It took a bit of effort, but we managed to start it up. We almost forgot the phenomenal sound of these Alfettas. It’s awesome!

Yes! A new old Alfa Romeo arriving at the Petrol Avenue garage always makes our day. We have found a 1984 Alfetta 2.0 that could use Petrol Avenue’s love and attention. According to the previous owner, the engine is sound, the bottom of the car has been completely restored but the body itself needs some welding, a full respray and then it needs to be built up again. To us that sounds like a great project! We have just arrived back at the Petrol Avenue workshop with our van fully loaded with Alfetta parts and an Alfetta body on the trailer.

A new home for Petrol Avenue! After working for years out of two small garage boxes, we are moving this week to a bigger place in the Flexizone building in at the Tarasconweg in Eindhoven. The new Petrol Avenue garage will be ready in the coming weeks and will offer plenty of space for a fully equipped workshop, parts storage, cool beers in the fridge and of course our classic car park.

We are Petrol Avenue. Petrol Avenue collects, restores, repairs, drives, loves, and sells classic cars. And we do it with pride and passion. Not just any classic car. We are picky. Only the ones that stood the test of time because they are gorgeous, or they sound fantastic, or the way they handle, or they smell like oil and gas. Or all of them. We love old Alfa Romeos from the 60s and 70s because they are super elegant, and they sound like a scream from heaven. Or Mercedes Benzes from the same era. Or anything Italian. Or maybe even French. Just an idea of what lives in the Petrol Avenue garage on an average day.
