We love what we do. And this one is heading somewhere pretty special. ⛏️🌊

Another Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ78 completed by the FD Special Vehicles B.V. team, photographed and ready for shipment to the Boulby Underground Laboratory in the UK.

And “underground” really means underground.
Boulby is a unique deep-underground science facility, located in the ICL Boulby Mine with research taking place more than a kilometre below ground and beneath the North Sea.

That makes preparing a vehicle for this environment a job we’re particularly proud of. From engineering and fabrication to assembly, safety equipment, testing and those final details, it all comes together through the hands of the FD Special Vehicles team.

Different vehicles. Different applications. Different places in the world, and sometimes even under the North Sea. 🌊

After all these years, we still love our job. Great work, Team FD! 👏

The image is mysterious. The location: the Netherlands. The mission: the very first step of a development that will leave a lasting mark on Hungary’s search and rescue field.

We truly believe that knowledge and determination alone are sometimes not enough if the right tools are missing to carry out the job.

That’s why the Hungarian based Pest Vármegyei Kutató-Mentő Szolgálat - HUNGO team recently visited us and complimented us as one of Europe’s most unique vehicle manufacturing and conversion companies — the place where their dream will soon become reality.

The EMILI Project by Imerys is currently testing the FD electric Land Cruiser in the Beauvoir quarry in France.
Geologists working on the EMILI project are evaluating this electric 4x4 as part of ongoing field operations. This trial could mark the first step toward a fully electrified fleet in the future.
It’s a concrete example of how our Electric Landcruiser supports part of the project aligning its activities with environmental responsibility and the broader energy transition—where even rugged fieldwork begins to run a little quieter and a lot cleaner.

Another productive day at the FD Special Vehicles B.V. workshop 🚧🔧
Our team is hard at work transforming a batch of Toyota Land Cruiser units into fully equipped underground mining vehicles—built to handle the toughest environments beneath the surface.
And the momentum continues: today we’ve welcomed 10 Peugeot Landtrek units into the workshop, soon to be converted into K9 vehicles, ready to support critical operations.
