🛠️ ACCESSORY WEDNESDAY | A Place for Everything

Even the smallest details inside a classic VW deserve some attention!

This week’s find is a vintage glovebox insert by W. Hamann, designed to make better use of the Beetle’s dashboard storage. With adjustable, removable compartments, it offered a practical way to keep those little essentials neatly organized.

The original advertisement lists it for the VW 1200 from 1957 onwards and the VW 1500, while also mentioning that it could be adapted for other vehicle types.

Simple, clever and very much in the spirit of the period: accessories designed to make everyday life with your Volkswagen just that little bit easier. 🔎

What other unusual accessories have you discovered in old VW catalogs?

🧳 ACCESSORY WEDNESDAY | Vintage VW Roof Trunk

More luggage space, without sacrificing that classic VW look. 😎

This period advertisement shows a Volkswagen roof trunk designed to make travelling with a Beetle a little easier. According to the original text, the trunk could hold up to six suitcases, with a weather-resistant construction and a design that followed the lines of the Volkswagen sedan.

A pretty clever solution for the time — especially when the luggage space inside a Beetle was already spoken for! 🧳

We love finding these old advertisements because they show just how many clever accessories were created around the classic Volkswagen.

Would you put one of these on your Beetle for a road trip?

You see what’s online, but there’s so much more hiding in our warehouse! 📦🔧

With so many parts coming in and out, we simply can’t get everything listed online in a timely manner. So, if you’re looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to ask us! Chances are we might already have it sitting on one of these shelves. And if we don’t, there’s a good chance someone in our worldwide network does! 🌍

Not everything is listed, but that doesn’t mean we can’t find it! 😉
