Sometimes an aircraft needs to get its feet off the ground. ✈️🔧

For maintenance and functional checks of a retractable landing gear system, the aircraft is raised using its designated jacking points. This allows the landing gear to move freely and be safely extended and retracted.

During a gear retraction test, our technicians can inspect the operation of the system, locking mechanisms, clearances, indications, wheel movement and check for any signs of leakage.

All checks and maintenance are carried out in accordance with the applicable maintenance procedures for the aircraft.

Thoroughly checked on the ground, so everything works exactly as it should in the air.

✈️ Engine On-Condition – Maintenance Based on Actual Condition

Has your aircraft engine reached its TBO (Time Between Overhaul)? Reaching TBO does not always mean that an immediate overhaul is required.

With Engine On-Condition, the continued airworthiness of the engine is assessed based on its actual technical condition. Through periodic inspections, performance checks and condition monitoring, we determine whether the engine can safely remain in service.

🔧 At Vliegwerk Holland, we carefully assess the condition and performance of your engine and carry out the required inspections in accordance with applicable maintenance requirements.

On-Condition is not simply “flying beyond TBO.” It is a controlled maintenance approach based on regular inspections, proper documentation and continuous assessment of the engine’s condition.

𝗔 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿

The iconic PH-RLA Saab Safir, formerly operated by the Dutch Rijksluchtvaartschool in Eelde, recently came in for maintenance at Vliegwerk Holland.

Designed by Saab and first flown in 1945, the Saab 91 Safir became one of Europe’s most respected training aircraft. Its excellent handling characteristics and robust all-metal construction made it ideal for pilot training, both in civilian and military aviation.

A total of 323 Safirs were built in several variants, with 120 aircraft even produced under license in Dordrecht, the Netherlands. Besides military operators across Europe, major civil users included Air France, Lufthansa and the Dutch Rijksluchtvaartschool in Eelde, where generations of airline pilots began their flying careers.

Today, PH-RLA remains a flying tribute to that rich aviation heritage and we are proud to help keep this classic airworthy for future generations.
