Process … the mr 15 almost done for primer. We tend to loose ourselves in builds like these looking after small details we simply don’t want to be resolving in the primer stage. Primer, we put 2 coats of primer, no more than that. We use it as intended, seal the filler stage and create a uniform surface for the basecoat to lay as flat as possible and that in return leading to a smoother clear coat finish cutting back wet sanding hrs in the cut and buff stage. You simply don’t need more than 2 layers for that, you do need to put the time in this displayed stage, how tedious and frustrating it might actually be from time to time.

We never published the off the gun video of the 993 Aime Leon Dore we proudly build in collaboration with . The Porsche 993 is growing in popularity amongst those wanting the last series air cooled Porsche build fully bespoke but not wanting to revert to the easy way out: a backdate. This car was build with Porsche original only parts from the ground up within 2 months from bare metal to what now has become one of the most known 993’s out there with an incredible interior by Justin. Waiting eagerly to the day we may present our latest joint venture although it is mot a Porsche….

Weekends at GNCB be like…party time- block sanding party that is😉

A small peak into the kitchen of GNCB. As we said many times before we show it all. Filler works, metal works, primers, all the messy works that others pretend doesn’t happen in the shop or think it’s not worth it to show people , we just show it because it’s part of the game do not be mistaken by others not showing it,every build aimed at glass finish needs this stage, there is no beating around the bush.

So,finally the composites on the Von Schmidt nr15 are stable enough for us to continue reworking it towards paint. It’s now been 6 to 7 months since the composite parts were attached to the car and we had some difficulty with shrinkage on the areas where inner and outer parts and composite to metal joints were made. Since then we have applied a second coat of spray filler to the rear quarters and let it sit for six weeks. Happy to see that is now completely smooth without any shrinkage. As with many things in life, it’s all about being patient and things will work out by themselves. On we go with this car so it can be rebuilt this summer and drive during fall.

Today little spray session. Porsche 997 041 single stage Cromax 5035 gun Iwata ws400 series 2. Quick quarter spray due to in the past Captain Caveman of the detailers polished it so deep that he left nothing for the future, the future being me helping out a friend to polish a stain and at the 1st touch of the medium compound foam pad the paint was gone. No one’s to blame but the bafoon in the past. So be it. Fixed, Monday a small denib, put trim and quarter window back in and be gone to warmer climates.

Targa hellgelb…a Targa from Hell allright!

What a bi**ch to rebuild. Not doing this again, building something another company took apart yrs ago, more than 3 quarters of the stuff gone, rusted or broken off, 1976 so fitments on a targa are more like what is fitment…plus new so called “original” parts fit like…well…they just don’t fit at all.

Now we’ve build around 60 targas from 2010 till now and the last one was in 2022 and it was a bit of struggle back then already but the seals and g model specific parts have become way way waaaaaayyyy worse since then, what a s**t show. Don’t know who’s running the quality these days but they some zoo must be missing a few chimps…that’s for sure…

As we said before in a storyline: loose our number if you want to talk us building a targa,if its body and paint sure you’re welcome but otherwise just loose it, delete it, take a pill and forget about us😉

At least this one will leave tomorrow, Phew!!!!
