THE COPYWRITER’S NIGHTMARE...👇
The No 1 Copywriters Enemy.....
Back in 2024, the year I started my copywriting journey.
It all began with a free class of over 200 people. Out of that number, only 65 signed up for the paid program, and I was one of them.
When I saw how few people enrolled, I immediately started doubting the mentor’s ability. In my mind, if he truly knew the skill, at least 100 people should have signed up.
But at that time, I had no understanding of how sales actually work. And honestly, I had no choice anyway. I had already paid.
One of the biggest challenges I faced while learning was writer’s block. Not knowing where to start.
I believe about 97% of copywriters go through this stage. That moment when you’re staring at a blank screen. You know what you want to write, but you don’t know how to put it on paper.
After battling with this for a few days, I concluded that what I needed was more information.
Without thinking twice, I jumped on YouTube and started watching every copywriting video I could find.
From Tyson 4D to David Perell, KJ Rainey, and many others.
But despite watching all those videos, whenever I tried to write copy, I still struggled to put words down.
I knew what I wanted to write, but I kept overthinking everything.
Which formula should I use?
How should I structure it?
Should I write like Tyson, Bossuhzi, Adam Erhart, or KJ Rainey?
This cycle continued until I became frustrated and decided to seek help from one of the copywriters in the group who regularly shared his copy for review.
That was when I realized the trap I was in.
CONFUSION.
This happens to many copywriters, especially beginners. When they face a challenge, their first reaction is to seek more knowledge, believing it will fix the problem.
What they don’t understand is that more knowledge without direction only leads to confusion.
Direction is what helps you separate the content that will solve your problem from the content that will add to it.
What I lacked was direction.
And that lack of direction made me waste weeks watching unnecessary videos that only deepened my problem.
The real solution was simple. Reading more people’s copy and practicing consistently.
Challenges are a normal part of the journey. But before you rush out looking for solutions, make sure you understand the root of your problem.
