1. Oil Myth and the Truth

Myth: Oil is oil,… anyone will work for your angine. Truth: We have different grades of Oil.

Myth: Oil never wears out. Truth: Each grade of oil has a drain interval.

Myth: The thicker the oil, the better. Truth: Oil Thickness does not connote quality.



2. Lubricants - What Are they?

LUBRICANTS = Base oil + Additive.

• Base oil is obtained from crude oil by refining.

• Additive is a substance that is added to base oil to improve the quality and modify it for particular usage.

A lubricant is a substance which on application between moving surfaces in contact reduces or eliminates friction or allows easy or smooth movement between the surfaces in relative motion.



There are two basic types of lubricants:

Solid & Liquid.

Liquid = Water, engine oil.

Solid = Grease/Graphite.

For there to be motion, surfaces move relative to one another, which result in friction.







3. Why Do We Lubricate?

We generally lubricate to achieve the following;
To save energy.
To prevent rust.
To provide cooling effect in engines.
To provide sealing effect in engines.
To transmit power in hydraulic system.
To reduce engine noise.
To clean the engine.

5. Effects of Substandard Lubricants

Sub-standard lubricant products abound in the market.

A lot of what is sold as lubricants are mere base oils.



The use of fake and substandard lubricants damages the transmission systems, the gears and the machines that these fake lubricants are applied to,

thereby inflicting pains on the users.



The use of substandard lubricants also results in environmental pollution and distortion of the natural ecosystem.

BPL SUPER 3000 is primarily intended for gasoline engines. It can also be used in naturally aspirated
diesel engines.
Because it meets all the performance levels of the above specifications, it is approved by or meets the
requirements of major gasoline engine manufacturers:
BL, Citroen, Daimler Benz, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Talbot,

Precautions
BPL Engine Oils are unlikely to present any significant health or safety hazard when properly used in the
recommended application, and good standards of industrial and personal hygiene are maintained.
This product should not be used for purposes other than its intended use. If disposing of used product, take
care to protect the environment.
Health & Safety
Avoid contact with skin. Use impervious gloves with used oil. After skin contact, wash immediately with
soap and water. For further guidance on Product Health & Safety refer to the appropriate Beyond
Petroleum Lubricants Product / Materials Safety Data Sheet. MSDS' are available upon request through
your sales contact office, or via the Internet.
Protect the environment
Take used oil to an authorized collection point.
Do not discharge into drains, soil or water.
