Volkswagen MK6 GTI 2.0 β Water Entry Causing Gateway Module Failure π§
Todayβs Glenmarie branch video features a Volkswagen MK6 GTI 2.0 that came in with multiple electrical issues.
After thorough inspection, we discovered the root cause:
β Water entered through the wiper cowl cover area
β Rubber seal had deteriorated due to aging
β Water reached the gateway module and caused malfunction
π‘ This is a common issue on aging vehicles. As the rubber seals become hard and brittle over time, water can enter areas that are supposed to stay dry.
When the gateway module is affected by water ingress, it may cause:
β’ Multiple warning lights on dashboard
β’ Communication errors between modules
β’ Electrical system malfunction
β’ Intermittent vehicle issues
To solve the problem, we repaired the affected area, addressed the gateway issue, and rectified the water entry source to prevent future recurrence.
Result?
β
Water ingress issue resolved
β
Electrical system restored
β
Vehicle operating normally again
Sometimes the real problem isnβt the module itself β itβs the water leak that caused it.
