8–9 August 2026

Another action-packed weekend for RL Karting, with strong pace and plenty of fighting spirit across all four classes.

🟢 CADET
🇲🇾 Faliq Farriz – P9 Qualifying
🇲🇲 Thuta Min Sett – P26 Final | P1 IAME Malaysia

Faliq showed his best qualifying pace of the season despite battling illness, but was forced to miss the heats and Final after a hospital visit. Thuta fought hard to take 1st in IAME Malaysia.

🟡 JUNIOR
🇹🇭 Paphasathorn – P15 Final
🇮🇩 Altaf Ridwan – P14 Final

Both showed great pace in the Final, with Altaf making an impressive charge from P27 to P14. Paphasathorn finished P13 on track before a bumper penalty dropped him to P15.

🔴 SENIOR
🇮🇩 Rafael Kamal – P2 Qualifying
🇮🇩 Dominic Setiawan – P11 Final
🇱🇰 Ryan Gunawardhana – P21 Final

A strong qualifying performance after Rafael topped Official Practice. All three showed strong race pace despite incidents and penalties affecting the Final results.

🔵 MASTERS
🇲🇾 Thiru Kumaran – P3 Final 🥉

Another incredible comeback from Thiru, fighting from the back to take P3 on the final lap and strengthen his championship position.

Great pace, great fights and another podium for RL Karting. 🔥🏁

P1 in Rookie and P6 overall in Cadet for Thuta Min Sett 🇲🇲!

Fantastic drive this weekend being only 0.2 off pole in a highly competitive grid of 27 karts. Fighting all the way to one of his best performances. More to come from this young boy who is just getting started.

Malaysian Karting Championship Round 2 together with IAME Malaysia Round 2 has just concluded recently. Was a strong race from the team in Cadets where we were represented by 3 drivers consistently running in the front.

In Senior running with the team for the first time we had Loo Qin Shen who showed strong pace to run within the top 10. Unfortunate with incidents in the final but he will come back stronger next round.

Both Senior drivers showed very strong pace throughout the weekend, consistently running inside the top 10 and showing the speed to fight at the front. Unfortunately bumper penalties and incidents during the final races affected what could have been much stronger results. Despite the setbacks, there were plenty of positives to take away and the pace is clearly there. We’ll regroup, learn, and come back stronger next time.

An amazing weekend of progress from Sam Ng, who improved every time he rolled out onto the track. Despite a difficult start with mechanical issues in qualifying, he continued to build confidence and speed through every session. In only his second race with the team, he showed huge development, and his pace in the final was exceptional. Superb effort and we’re excited to continue working together again later this year!

Race Report – IAME Asia Series Round 4 | Macau
Category: Junior

A weekend of strong speed and frustrating results in Junior, where the pace shown was much stronger than the final results reflected.

177 Isaac Yoon 🇰🇷
OP: P1
QTT: P5
Heat 1: P7 (5 sec front bumper penalty)
Heat 2: P22 (Accident – DNF)
Super Heat: Started P13 → Finished P2 (Dropped to P8 with 5 sec front bumper penalty)
Final: P5

Isaac was one of the standout drivers in Junior all weekend and consistently one of the quickest on track despite only recently stepping up into the category. His speed and racecraft were evident throughout the event, but a series of incidents and penalties on Saturday made his weekend more difficult than it should have been. Despite the setbacks, Isaac fought back strongly and showed he has all the ingredients needed to challenge at the front. Plenty more to come from him.

A very unfortunate weekend for Park after showing top-10 pace during practice sessions. Starting deep in the pack made things difficult and he found himself caught up in multiple incidents that prevented him from showing his true potential. Despite the setbacks, he continued to fight hard and gain positions whenever possible. The pace is clearly there, and with cleaner starts and a bit more luck, stronger results will follow.

A weekend where the results do not fully tell the story, but the speed and potential shown by both drivers gives plenty of positives to build on heading into the next round.

A challenging but encouraging weekend for the team in Macau, with plenty of positives to take away and strong pace shown throughout the field.

8 Daniel Yoon 🇰🇷
QTT: P4
Heat 1: P1
Heat 2: P1
Heat 3: P4
Super Heat: P10
Final: DNF

Daniel showed incredible speed all weekend and was one of the standout drivers in the category. Dominating the heats with superb driving, he firmly established himself as a contender for victory. Unfortunately incidents in the Super Heat dropped him down the order, and heartbreak followed in the Final when he was taken out on the opening lap. A difficult result to accept considering the pace he had throughout the weekend, but plenty of positives to take away from a very strong performance.

Super Heat: P11
Final: P26

Thuta continued to improve steadily across the weekend and showed very strong pace on Sunday, running only a few tenths away from the leaders. A fantastic Super Heat performance saw him fight his way into the Final. While the finishing result doesn’t fully reflect the progress made, the speed and confidence shown throughout the weekend gives a lot to build on heading into the next round.

Final: Did not qualify

Faliq made strong progress every day and showed a big step forward from his previous visit to Macau. Consistently improving session after session, his final lap of the weekend was actually his fastest, showing his growth and confidence building with every lap. Unfortunate to narrowly miss out on a Final berth, but a very encouraging weekend overall.

A weekend with highs and lows, but also plenty of positives and strong signs of progress. Time to regroup, keep working, and come back stronger for the next round.
