This 2013 BMW Z4 sDrive28i E89 came in after the customer’s vehicle got into an accident, which triggered a fault in the Pedestrian Protection System.

The vehicle displayed a Restraint Systems Fault warning on both the iDrive screen and instrument cluster, which can be quite annoying to see every time you drive the car.

The customer had already visited several BMW specialist workshops and was told that the fault could not be disabled and that replacement of the system was required, which could cost a few thousand.

After proper diagnosis and troubleshooting, we were able to successfully disable the Pedestrian Protection System via coding and remove the fault warning from both the iDrive screen and instrument cluster without replacing the entire system.

✅ No unnecessary replacement of the entire system
✅ Saved the customer thousands in potential replacement costs

Customer’s car originally came with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. However, after a retrofit was done at another shop, the Apple CarPlay stopped functioning properly.

After several attempts to fix the issue elsewhere, the customer decided to bring the car to us. We diagnosed the setup and replaced/fixed the module so he can enjoy Apple CarPlay again.
