A one month old ‘machine grey’ CX5 with mileage less than 1K came in for our standard coating package. Machine grey is Mazda’s second premium colour following soil red ( colour, reflective & clear coat ) - which why it is important to do justice to this beautiful colour.

There were only minor defects on this car which includes some micro marring and hologram to be removed. The finishing polish and ceramic coat compliments the colour by adding to its depth and gloss.

Owner has also took some initiative to purchase ph neutral shampoo and the right tools & product for maintenance. As we always say,maintenance is key.

The new Civic RS (fe) has gone for a much cleaner design and looks abit more European than Japanese.
This ‘Ignite Red Metallic’ civic rs was delivered to its owner 2 weeks back and it was filled with holograms which can be seen in the short video clip. Why is this happening?
The answer is;
The dealership did a quick polishing right before delivering the car to its owner- and when not done correctly, will cause more damage to the paint. Holograms can only be seen under direct sunlight or under proper lighting. That is why we should always do paint correction before applying any sort of paint protection.

Honda’s paint is known to be extremely soft and sticky. Dark colours are even more difficult to finish without hazing, cobweb swirls, micro marring and holograms. Patience is key.
It was challenging but rewarding at the same time.

Both Red Mica Metallic and Platinum White Pearl looks great on Vios. Toyota’s pearl white has always been a favourite but we must agree that the red is equally as stunning, if not better. All that is needed was some enhancement and defect removal under our standard package to elevate its sheen and colour before sealing it with GYEON Syncro.

Often neglected, engine compartment is usually filled with oily and greasy dirt.

While a clean engine does not improve the performance of your car, it does offer certain benefits like reducing the wear of rubber hoses and plastic parts. Furthermore, it helps determine where the oil is coming from in the case of oil leak.

Deep cleaned the interior of a 6 year old BMW F30.
We started by cleaning the carpet and also the floor of the car with an alkaline based cleaner before using an extractor to complete the process. The doors were cleaned using a steam cleaner.
Next we attacked the leather seats - which may look clean since it’s black leather. We agitated the dirt and cleaned with a leather brush ( notice the residue on the yellow cloth ), before protecting it with GYEON leather coat. The steering , dashboard were detailed with a soft brush from detail factory. Final step was to dress the dashboard and doors for a perfect finish ✨

Had an opportunity to work on this gorgeous Soul Red Crystal Mazda CX-5 2.2 SKYACTIV-D.
Despite being sent for polishing recently , the car was filled with swirl marks and holograms. Of course with quick polishing, the car looks good with minimal lighting, but when the lights hits the paint just right, you'll be able see certain marks on the surface. These are surface imperfections that cause the light to be reflected in way that mimics the direction of a rotary polisher.

It took almost 20 hours of deep wash, iron removal, clay, plastic panel dressing, paint correction and coated with GYEON Syncro to do justice to this paint colour and to give the reflection it deserves.

A lunar blue W205 Mercedes Benz C300 AMG Line came for a standard package which includes level 2 detailing and coating with GYEON Syncro.
GYEON Q2 Syncro is a two-step coating system that delivers, with the first coat, a durable and long lasting protection and, with the second coat, unparalleled hydrophobic and glossy qualities.

The paint was filled with swirl marks and light scratches. We managed to restore the paint to its original condition or even better. Upon compounding the imperfections, the finishing polish gave more depth to this lunar blue colour and a glossy 'wet' look. All this goodness is then protected with ceramic coating which not only protects the car from the elements, but it also adds slickness when applied correctly.

The third picture shows a before and after picture of the front bonnet in the compounding and polishing process ( which is also known as paint correction ).
So, 90% of a ceramic coating job comes from full detailing work that covers the process of deep cleaning, chemical and mechanical decontamination, paint correction , IPA wipe, interior, wheel arch , dressing etc. and only the remaining 10% is the application of the coating which must be done correctly as the manufacturers 'flashing time' and proper levelling to avoid high spots.

As important as the skill of ceramic coating application sounds, the real mastery in detailing comes from the surface preparation and paint correction.

This granite grey Myvi came fresh, right after delivery to the owner - to enhance and protect.

Removed imperfections on the paint before sealing the finish with GYEON Pure for a thick and resistant ceramic coating that delivers an amazing candy gloss.

The question is , why do we even detail a new car? Isn’t it at its best condition out of the showroom? Can’t we just start coating the car?

Here is the answer :)

The car is usually parked at a warehouse or open space for some time before delivery and later being transported on a car hauler trailer to the dealership. The car will be exposed to brake dust, contaminants and industrial fallout while being transported to its destination. Furthermore, we can expect some watermark on the roof of the car if it is not being kept out of the rain.
Some dealership may do a quick polish before delivery that may leave behind holograms and swirl marks due to unskilled machine polishing.

Hence, before we protect the car - it is vital to decontaminate and prepare the paint surface to its best which not only enhances the look but also to ensure the proper bonding of ceramic coat on the car.
