🚗 Car Engine Smoke: What the Color Really Means
Knowing the color of your engine smoke can save you from costly repairs.
🔹 1. White Smoke
• Thin White Smoke: Normal on cold starts — it’s just water v***r.
• Thick White Smoke: Bad sign! Usually means coolant is leaking into the engine (blown head gasket, cracked block, etc.).
🔹 2. Blue or Gray Smoke
• Burning Oil Alert!
• On Acceleration: Likely worn piston rings.
• On Deceleration: Probably bad valve seals.
🔹 3. Black Smoke
• Too Much Fuel, Not Enough Air!
• Faulty injectors, dirty air filter, or fuel pressure issues.
• Common in diesels but can happen in gas engines too.
🔹 4. Blue-Black or Gray-Black Smoke
• Combo of oil + fuel burning = major engine trouble. Get it checked ASAP!
