Isuzu Malaysia Achieved Strong Growth in the First Half of 2022, on Track for a Record Year | Isuzu D-Max Malaysia
Isuzu Malaysia has set a new sales record as a result of rising demand for pick-up trucks, which is represented by the all-new Isuzu D-Max.
From January to June of this year, 4,237 new registrations were reported, representing a spectacular 143% growth compared to the same time last year. Notably, the volume during the first half of this year nearly matches the 4,601-unit total achieved throughout 2021 and takes Isuzu D-Max to the third position in the pick-up truck segment.
The third-generation all-new Isuzu D-Max redefined the way pick-up trucks look, feel, and perform when it was recently launched in the Malaysian market. Isuzu has been able to engineer greater capabilities into these pickup trucks while enhancing their comfort, safety, and driving pleasure, from the hardworking Single Cab model to the incredibly complex and feature-packed top-of-the-line X-Terrain variant.
According to Chief Executive Officer Shunsuke Okazoe, “Since the introduction of the all-new Isuzu D-Max, we have seen a growing interest in pick-up truck usage, particularly from first-time buyers and upgraders who have been impressed by the way the new D-Max has blurred the lines between a tough and capable pick-up truck and the comfort and sophistication of a family saloon.”
The flagship X-Terrain model, which accounts for 10% of the market, has made huge progress as well. Given that Isuzu has historically focused on reliable workhorses rather than offering a strong lifestyle vehicle, this represents a considerable accomplishment for Isuzu Malaysia.
“The X-Terrain has gained a strong following, particularly among urban users. Many have found the vehicle to be the ideal extension of their lifestyle activities offering the ideal balance of space, capability, comfort and safety. With the recent updates made to the X-Terrain including the new colours, welcome light, scuff plates, wireless Qi charger and Around View Monitor, it is an even more desirable vehicle that allows owners to do more without boundaries,” added Chief Operating Officer Kenkichi Sogo.
