πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅β€ΌοΈ Toyota has officially confirmed some of the biggest details yet about the long-awaited return of one of its most iconic nameplates: the legendary Celica.

According to executives from Toyota Gazoo Racing, the new model will be called the Celica Sport and is expected to feature an all-wheel-drive layout paired with a hybrid-assisted powertrain.

At the heart of the car is expected to be Toyota's new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, known internally as the G20E. The company is reportedly still evaluating whether the final production version will use a conventional hybrid system or a plug-in hybrid setup.

The return of the Celica marks a major step for Toyota as it prepares for stricter global emissions regulations while maintaining the performance-focused character enthusiasts have come to expect.

Adding even more excitement, Toyota has recently been spotted testing a mysterious rally-inspired prototype, leading many enthusiasts to believe it could be connected to the upcoming Celica.

If the rumors prove accurate, the Celica Sport could eventually serve as the foundation for Toyota's next-generation World Rally Championship challenger, continuing the motorsport heritage that made the Celica GT-Four a legend and helped inspire today's GR performance models.

For performance car fans around the world, the return of the Celica represents far more than just another sports car. It signals the revival of a nameplate that helped define Toyota's rally legacy and inspired generations of enthusiasts.

The legend appears to be making a comeback.

Modern era , car enthusiasts demands latest car tech, creature comforts, force induction

BRZ is probably the one of the last few "analog" sports cars, not "1970s, 80s" analog, not that the definition changed its goal posts. some minor changes accepted.

It will be harder & more difficult as most car manufacturers could succumb to market forces & make building such cars in the future as impossible

The Subaru BRZ feels like it was built for a different era.

While most modern performance cars chase bigger numbers with turbochargers, all-wheel drive, and endless driver aids, the BRZ sticks to a simple formula: a naturally aspirated engine, rear-wheel drive, a manual transmission, and a chassis that rewards skill over horsepower.

It's not the fastest sports car you can buy. That's exactly why so many enthusiasts love it.

In a world of increasingly digital performance cars, the BRZ remains refreshingly analog.

The Toyota MR2 was one of the boldest sports cars Japan ever built. Lightweight, mid-engined, reliable, and genuinely exciting to drive without exotic car headaches.
