Malaya gained independence on Aug 31, 1957, Singapore, Sarawak and Sabah gained theirs on June 3, 1959, July 22, 1963 and Aug 31, 1963 respectively. Malaysia was formed as a new nation on "Malaysia Day" on Sep 16, 1963.
