From BMW, Toyota & Volkswagen to Entrepreneur: Kishok Reddy Builds a Trusted Automotive Service Centre in Melaka
MELAKA: Years of dedication, technical expertise, and a lifelong passion for automobiles have shaped the inspiring entrepreneurial journey of Kishok Reddy, founder of Reddy Autoworks, a trusted automotive service centre in Melaka.
Kishok's interest in the automotive industry began during his childhood, leading him to pursue Automotive Engineering through vocational education before continuing his studies at college in Seremban. Along the way, he successfully obtained SKM Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4, as well as a Diploma in Automotive Engineering, while gaining valuable hands-on experience by working part-time at workshops specialising in classic and modified vehicles, including Mini and Volkswagen Beetle models.
His professional career started with BMW, followed by valuable experience in tyre and NGV service centres, where he expanded his technical knowledge across various automotive fields. Following the passing of his brother, Kishok returned to Melaka to support his family and joined Toyota, where he served for six years.
During his tenure at Toyota, Kishok demonstrated outstanding technical ability by competing in the Toyota Malaysia Technician Skill Contest, earning a place among the Top 20 technicians nationwide and finishing in 6th place, a testament to his commitment to excellence.
He later joined Volkswagen, where he spent three years further strengthening his expertise in continental vehicles. Even while working full-time, Kishok continued servicing customers from home after office hours, gradually building a loyal clientele through honest workmanship, quality service, and customer trust.
Four years ago, he fulfilled his entrepreneurial dream by establishing Reddy Autoworks. Today, the workshop provides professional repair and maintenance services for Toyota, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and all Malaysian vehicle brands, earning a reputation for reliable, transparent, and customer-focused service.
Looking ahead, Kishok plans to expand his business into a complete one-stop automotive service centre by introducing tyre services, air-conditioning repairs, and additional vehicle maintenance solutions.
His journey reflects how passion, perseverance, continuous learning, and dedication can transform a childhood dream into a respected and successful business, inspiring the next generation of skilled automotive professionals.
