Hi guys, I would like to share some of my experience after few years working on bm vehicles. Also with my own point of view, hopefully it can help you guys.

In this industry, I am glad to have chance to go through and check on bm vehicles caught fire. Especially for F30 model worth to check it out.

The water will stuck at Front right side of the vehicle, where the brake drum, Battery terminal (+) cable / sockets located. (picture)
In this case, the water drainage cap has stuck with leaves or dirt etc, so the water is not allow to get out.

So some of us will remove the water drainage cap.
But the fact is although you have removed the cap, after a while, it will still has a chance the water will stuck by leaves ,or anything u can imagine etc.

It may or not show up Battery fault in your I-drive (picture) , saying that battery discharging when stationary, in my own review of checking, water act as a battery (-) because touching with body, and water touches battery (+) wiring, so it will make current leak (short) , and the worst case , catch fire.

It may happen anytime, when you parking on your parking lot or during driving.

My own advise is to prevent on parking under the tree, always check it every time when we go for a maintenance service.

Recommended to check it often and not only check water and oil level.
