Instead of replacing the entire wheel immediately, we assessed its condition and restored the PU surface through professional recoating.

‼️ Not Every Worn Wheel Needs to Be Replaced.

After continuous operation, PU wheels naturally show signs of wear.

⚠️⚠️ But wear doesn't always mean the wheel has reached the end of its service life.

For this case, the existing wheel was suitable for PU recoating, allowing the customer to restore the working surface without replacing the entire wheel.

⚠ WHY DOES PU ROLLER DELAMINATE? ⚠

‼ The first thought is often:
“The PU material is not good.”
But PU Delamination can actually be caused by multiple factors.

① STEEL CORE SURFACE PREPARATION
PU does not simply “wrap around” the Steel Core.
Before recoating, the Steel Core requires proper surface preparation.
Contamination such as:
✔ Oil
✔ Rust
✔ Dust
✔ Old material residue
can affect the bonding between PU and Steel Core.

② BONDING PROCES
A professional bonding process involves:
✔ Surface Preparation
✔ Adhesive Selection
✔ Application
✔ Curing
✔ Process Control
Any issue during these stages can affect the final Bond Strength.

③ OVERLOADING
Long-term operation beyond the Roller's designed load can place excessive stress on the bonding area between the PU and Steel Core.

④ TEMPERATURE & CHEMICAL ENVIRONMENT
High temperatures, temperature changes, and exposure to certain oils, solvents or chemicals may affect the performance of the PU or Bonding System.

💡 So: PU Delamination is not always simply a material quality issue.

📌 The key factors to check are:
Material + Surface Preparation + Bonding + Load + Environment

⭕ Simply applying a new layer of PU without identifying the root cause may result in the same problem happening again.
