ked into the Forbidden City (故宫).

Palace after palace.
Gate after gate.

Power once lived here.
Decisions that shaped a nation… happened here.

But today?

It becomes history.

So I asked myself…

Do people really learn from experience?

If yes…
Why does history keep repeating?

Dynasties rise.
Dynasties fall.

Same pattern.
Different people.

Greed.
Power struggle.
Blind confidence.
Ignoring truth.

It happened before.
It is happening now.
And it will happen again.

The real question is not history.

The real question is YOU.

Are you seeing yourself?
Or are you blind to what you are doing?

Many people think they are right.
Until it’s too late.

Many leaders think they are in control.
Until everything collapse.

💭 Experience is only useful…
if you are aware.

If not —
you are just repeating history in your own life.

Look at yourself carefully.

Are you building?
Or slowly destroying… without realising?

**Who Is Right?**

USA (the so-called “big boys”).
Iran (a nation with its own mindset).

One believes they are protecting global order.
One believes they are protecting sovereignty and identity.

When power meets power,
when belief meets belief,
when “I am right” meets another “I am right” —

The world feels the impact.

Sanctions.
Retaliation.
Allies dragged in.
Markets shaken.
Innocent people affected.

But this scenario is not new.

Throughout history, “big boys” always believe their decision is for the greater good.
They believe others should align.
They believe influence equals responsibility.

And on the other side?
The other party believes they are defending their dignity, their independence, their survival.

Both sides think they are right.

So who is right?

Maybe the better question is —
When power is involved, does “right” even exist?
Or is it simply perspective shaped by interest, fear, and ideology?

This is not just about countries.

It happens in companies.
It happens in families.
It happens in leadership.

A CEO thinks he is protecting the company.
A manager thinks he is defending his team.
An employee thinks he is standing for fairness.

Each one convinced they are right.

The danger is not power.
The danger is unchecked certainty.

Real leadership is not about forcing others to follow.
It is about understanding the impact of your decisions beyond your circle.

Because when two powerful egos collide,
it is always the surrounding people who pay the price.

🌱 Food for thought.

Before asking “Who is right?”
Maybe ask —

“Who is affected?”

Last week I posted about school memories.
Then recently I attended a Robert Kiyosaki preview.
And suddenly… one thought hit me very hard.
💡 School actually doesn’t allow us to make mistakes.
Think back…
In school, when we answer wrong — ❌ Teacher correct you
❌ Red pen
❌ Lose marks
❌ Sometimes kena scold in front of class
Slowly we learn one thing:
Don’t be wrong.
So what do we do?
We keep quiet.
We wait for safe answers.
We follow instructions.
We don’t try unless we are sure.
Because mistake feels painful.
Nobody told us that mistakes are part of learning. We were trained to avoid mistakes… not learn from them.
Then we grow up.
Enter working life.
Boss ask for ideas — silence.
New project comes — people scared.
Opportunity appears — overthink.
Not because people are not capable.
But deep inside… we are still that student afraid of getting the wrong answer.
Business taught me something very different.
Every growth I had — came from wrong decisions.
Wrong hiring.
Wrong investment.
Wrong judgement.
Wrong trust.
Painful? Yes.
Expensive? Very.
But that’s where learning really happened.
Today my biggest AHA:
School teaches us how to be correct. Life teaches us through mistakes.
Maybe as leaders today, our job is not to find people who never make mistakes…
but to build teams who dare to try, dare to learn, and dare to grow.
Because no mistake means no growth.
I’m still learning this myself.
How about you?
Were you also trained to be afraid of mistakes?

We may not remember the chapters. But today I want to ask something more powerful.👉 During your school days…Who were you?...

We may not remember the chapters.
But today I want to ask something more powerful.

👉 During your school days…
Who were you?

The noisy one?
The quiet one?
The top student?
The last-minute one?
The one who always kena scold?
The rebel? 😄

If you think carefully…

Many of us are STILL that person today.

The quiet student → becomes the quiet staff in meetings.
The responsible prefect → becomes the dependable leader.
The always last-minute one → still chasing deadline.
The one who got scolded publicly → today very sensitive to criticism.

School didn’t just give us memories.

It shaped our identity.

Sometimes…
we are still reacting to life
based on who we were at 13 years old.

Powerful question:

Are you still living as your “school version” self?
Or have you consciously upgraded?

Maybe…

That embarrassment made you hardworking.
That bullying made you tougher.
That failure made you determined.
That one teacher’s belief made you confident.

We forgot the syllabus.
But the syllabus never forgot us.

👉 Who were you in school?
👉 And are you proud of who you have become?

As we step into a new year, maybe it’s time to upgrade the old version of ourselves.

To all my Chinese friends celebrating,

🧧 Gong Xi Fa Cai!
May this year not only bring prosperity…
but also growth, maturity, and a better version of you.

Let’s upgrade together 💪

All of us went through primary school → secondary school → and some of us even university.

We studied SO MANY chapters… Sejarah, Maths, Science, BM, English… But if today I ask you: “Name one chapter you remember?” Aiyo… many of us blank already 😂

But here’s the funny part…

Even if we can’t remember the chapter, we can remember the memories.

Sweet memory ✅
Sad memory ✅
Angry / kena scold memory ✅
Embarrassing memory ✅
Even small small things… we still remember until today.

So I want to ask you this:

Since you can’t remember the chapters…
Can you still remember ONE sweet / sad / angry memory from your school days?

And most important: WHY you remember it?

Was it…

a teacher who changed your life?

a friend who stood by you?

your first crush? 😄

a moment you got bullied / humiliated?

a time you failed badly but it made you stronger?

or a memory that still gives you “heat” until now? 😂

Because maybe…

📌 Chapters disappear, but emotions stay.
📌 Grades fade, but moments shape us.
📌 School didn’t just teach us subjects… it taught us life.

✅ Comment ONE memory (sweet / sad / angry)
and tell me why you still remember it.

I’ll start:
That one time I got scolded in front of the class… I forgot what subject it was already, but I still remember the feeling until today.

Most SME founders don’t fail because of sales.
They fail because of team alignment.

I see this mindset so often:

> “If you don’t want to do, I do it myself.”

Sounds responsible, right?
Actually it’s a silent killer.

Because the moment the founder keeps “doing it all”:

The team becomes dependent, not responsible

Everyone waits for instructions, not outcomes

Standards become “老板 punya standard” only

The business grows… but the founder burns out

Let me be real:
Misalignment is expensive.
Not only money — it costs time, trust, and momentum.

What team alignment really means

✅ Same direction (everyone knows the target)
✅ Same standard (what “good” looks like is clear)
✅ Same rhythm (who does what, by when, how we report)
✅ Same accountability (results > excuses)

Alignment is not “motivation talk”.
Alignment is a system.

If you’re a founder and you keep saying,
“Never mind, I do myself…”

Ask yourself:
Are you building a business… or building a job with stress?

A strong company is not built by a strong founder.
It’s built by a aligned team that can move even when the founder is not around.

If you want, comment “ALIGN” — I’ll share a simple weekly alignment structure I use with teams (very practical, no nonsense).

We grow the human before we grow the business

07/12/2025

Have you ever noticed something funny?

A business lecturer teaching business… but never once ran a real business.

A sales trainer teaching sales… but can’t even close their own client.

A goal-setting coach… who has no goals.

A “success” trainer… who has never succeeded in anything.

A leadership trainer… who cannot even lead themselves.

A time-management expert… always late.

A motivational speaker… who gives up easily.

A negotiation coach… who always loses.

A communication coach… who doesn’t listen.

A financial trainer… always broke.

Sometimes we forget this simple truth:

People can only bring you as far as THEY have gone.
A teacher without real experience can only teach theory — not transformation.

Choose your mentors wisely.
Choose someone who has walked the path, not someone who only talks about it.

Another breakthrough moment this time with 21 amazing individuals from Poney Malaysia, a children’s clothing brand close to many Malaysian hearts. 🇲🇾👕

As trainers, it never fails to touch us deeply every time we witness a group break through their own limits. And this team… they did just that.

These leaders are going to spark inspiration within their teams, and we’re proud to be a part of their journey.

Thank you Yani Tham for the trust, collaboration, and opportunity.
Here’s to growth, courage, and leadership that lasts. 💛✨
