POWER AND EFFICIENCY – THE BENEFITS OF AN ECU REFLASH.
Why Do We Need to Reflash Our Motorcycle’s ECU?
Modern bikes face many issues when it comes to passing emissions regulations. The manufacturer wants to be able to deliver increasing power to consumers, but on the other hand, emission and license restrictions are tightening. What this means is that they have to restrict the bikes a lot, both in terms of their intake, exhaust systems and fueling, which is highly lean out of the factory. In other words, it means the bikes are not running how it was supposed to.
The EURO 6 emission restriction started in 2014 and the US which has a higher limit started in 2017. Most, if not all of Malaysian superbikes (AUS/EUR) are EURO 6 compliant.
Most people think that ECU flashes are about getting crazy peak power gains but it’s not. The truth is that all bikes from 2015 onwards could benefit from an ECU flash. It is to free up the restrictions so that the bike run as designed by the manufacturer and that is why the ECU can be edited.
After derestricting the ECU, the bike’s performance will feel very smooth, no more hot engines and free up the engine power. The most important thing is, the engine will be more reliable without all the restriction that is choking it up.
Of all the performance mods, the greatest performance gain is from an ECU flash. Even on stock engines without any mods, the performance benefits of an ECU flash are more than any full system exhaust, free-flow filters, cams, etc,

STAGE 1 – ECU DERESRICTION

1. Remove Speed Limit
2. Disable Deceleration Fuel Cut
The stock ECU mapping turns the injectors off during deceleration to conform to emission control. This emission feature is disable to smooth out the throttle on acceleration and deceleration on engine braking. The bike will respond better and decelerate smoothly during low-speed cruising. This should also reduce the jerkiness many people are noticing when they transition from open throttle to closed and back to open.
3. Disable PAIR Valve
Passive Air Injection or Secondary Air System is an emission pollution control system in all bikes to conform to EURO 6. The sole purpose for the Pair Valve is to passively "Inject" fresh air into the exhaust system at the exhaust port, to cause ignition of unburned fuel v***r before it leaves the exhaust pipes, or to thin out the mixture with enough air to fool the sniffer machines. On aftermarket exhaust, it will cause nasty backfires popping sounds. The pair valve system will likely clog with carbon after a year or so and it will probably throw off the readings of the O2 sensor. This mod will be activated on the ECU level to disable the PAIR valve.
4. Restore Maximum ETV at Full Throttle
Bikes that conform to license requirements and emission controls will lock the electronic throttle valve at less than 100% throttle. This mod will restore full throttle percentage for every gear on the motorcycle. It will result in more power at full throttle.
STAGE 2 – FUEL REMAPPING, IGNITION AND ETV REBUILT

Modern bikes run conservative fuel and timing maps because of emission and pollution control. We will tailor suit the fuel and timing maps for each bike for efficient increase in power and torque. Fuel and timing maps are optimized for an optimal AFR to the given VE (Volumetric Efficiency). This mod will highly increase engine response and with power at your wrist.
3. Increase power and torque for the whole rpm ranges.
Most people test their bikes on a dyno at 100% throttle, how many of us are at full throttle on the streets? The most addictive power on your wrist comes from power and torque in the lower and mid RPM ranges. We tune for power and torque that you can feel on the seat of your pants and not only exist in numbers on a piece of paper.
4. Cooler engines.
With optimal timings and fuel, your engine will run cooler and more responsive.
