The Weststar Group had the privilege of welcoming Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim to our booth at Defence Services Asia 2026 during the first day.

Tan Sri Dr. Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of The Weststar Group, presented the Group’s latest strengths and capabilities across aviation, defence, and ICT to the Prime Minister.

The final day of Defence Services Asia 2026 marked a successful close for The Weststar Group, concluding four days of strong engagement, strategic discussions, and valuable connections.

Throughout the exhibition, the booth welcomed distinguished delegates, industry leaders, and partners, while showcasing capabilities across Weststar Aviation Services, Weststar Defence Industries, and Weststar Engineering. Key highlights included high-level visits and the formalisation of strategic partnerships, reinforcing Weststar’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence within the defence and technology landscape.

Among the key highlights on the final day of the event was the visit of Panglima Tentera Darat, Jeneral Dato’ Azhan bin Hj Md Othman, and Timbalan Panglima Tentera Darat, Leftenan Jeneral Dato’ Mohamad Suria bin Mohamad Saad, as well as the Ambassador of Oman, Sheikh Alabbas bin Ibrahim Alharthi, accompanied by members of the Omani military delegation.

The exhibition provided a valuable platform to strengthen relationships, explore new opportunities, and further position The Weststar Group as a key player in the regional defence and security ecosystem.

Day 3 at Defence Services Asia 2026 maintained strong momentum at The Weststar Group booth, with continued engagement from visitors and industry stakeholders throughout the day.

Among the key highlights were visits from Tunku Besar of Tampin, Yang Teramat Mulia Tunku Syed Razman ibni Tunku Syed Idrus Al-Qadri; Y.A.M Brigedier Jeneral (Kehormat) Tengku Panglima Besar Selangor, Tengku Abdul Samad Shah Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj; Director of the Logistics and Technology Department of the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), CP Gilberd anak Philip Layang; Director of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK) of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri; as well as Dato’ Tan Kia Loke, Senior Managing Director at the Chairman’s Office, Sunway Group.

Tan Sri Dr. Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of The Weststar Group, was present together with the Weststar management team to receive and engage with the distinguished guests.

The day featured ongoing engagements with partners and delegates, providing a platform to present Weststar’s capabilities across aviation, defence, and engineering, while further strengthening industry collaboration.

Day 2 at Defence Services Asia 2026 continued with strong momentum, with The Weststar Group booth welcoming a series of distinguished guests and key leaders.

Highlights included visits from Raja Muda of Perlis, DYTM Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, and Raja Muda of Kedah, DYTM Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah; followed by Deputy Minister of MINDEF Malaysia, YB Adly Zahari, Deputy Secretary General (Development) of MINDEF Malaysia, YBhg. Abdul Hadi Omar, and Deputy Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy, YBhg. Laksamana Madya Datuk Ts. Badarudin Taha; as well as Deputy Inspector-General of Police of Malaysia, YBhg. Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

Tan Sri Dr. Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of The Weststar Group, was present to receive the distinguished guests alongside the Weststar management team.

A momentous highlight of the day was the formalisation of three strategic partnerships. The signing ceremonies included:

* Global Komited and Thales LAS France CWS, represented by Datuk Ir. Mohd Nasser Israil, CEO of Global Komited, and Mr. Florian Riou, Country Director for Malaysia & Brunei;
* Weststar Defence Industries and CETC International, represented by Datuk Col. Arsad Abd. Salam (Rtd), CEO of Weststar Defence Industries, and Mr. Fan Chong, Director General, Asia Department, CETC International.
* Weststar Engineering Sdn Bhd and Autel Robotics Co., Ltd., represented by Datuk Muhammad Farouk Noor Shahwan, CEO of Weststar Engineering, and Mr. Zulhusni Mokhti, Regional Sales Director of Autel Robotics;

These engagements provided an opportunity to present Weststar’s capabilities across aviation, defence, and engineering, while strengthening collaboration with key stakeholders and partners.

The Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) is one of the largest defence and homeland security exhibitions in Asia. Hosted and co-organised by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home Affairs, it showcases some of the world’s most advanced technologies in the industry.

The Weststar Group marked another significant milestone in our growth journey with the signing of a RM2 billion financing facility with AmBank Group at Menara Weststar.

Representing Weststar Aviation Services, Datuk Mohd Wazeer Nawawi signed the financing documents alongside Datuk William Koh, Head, WBC Large Corporate 5 of AmBank Islamic Berhad, and Mr Yeoh Teik Leng, Head, Debt Markets of AmInvestment Bank Berhad.

The ceremony was witnessed by Tan Sri Dr. Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, Group Managing Director of The Weststar Group, together with senior representatives from Weststar and AmBank.

This RM2 billion facility will support Weststar Aviation Services’ fleet expansion plans and further strengthen our position as a leading aviation services provider across the region.
