El manual o Convenio (Safety of Life at Sea) es el tratado internacional más importante sobre la seguridad de los buques mercantes.

❤️Su versión vigente es el SOLAS 1974 enmendado, cuya actualización más reciente es la Refundida de #2024, publicada el 1 de enero de #2025.

Estructura del Manual
(Capítulos)

🚨El anexo técnico del convenio cuenta con 15 capítulos que abarcan diversos aspectos de la seguridad marítima:

: Tratan sobre disposiciones generales, construcción, estabilidad, maquinaria, instalaciones eléctricas y dispositivos de salvamento.

: Cubren radiocomunicaciones (SMSSM), seguridad de la navegación (aplicable a todos los buques) y transporte de cargas/combustibles.

: Regulan el transporte de mercancías peligrosas, buques nucleares, gestión de la seguridad operacional (Código IGS/ISM) y medidas para naves de gran velocidad.

-1 y XI-2: Contienen medidas especiales de seguridad y protección marítima (Código PBIP/ISPS).

: Se refieren a la seguridad para graneleros, verificación del cumplimiento y seguridad para buques en aguas polares (Código Polar).

( ): Añade medidas de seguridad para buques que transportan personal industrial, en vigor desde el 1 de julio de 2024.
