What an amazing year! 2025 brought 4 trips to Mexico, dozens of charters in San Diego Bay, 4 charters to the San Juan Islands, and a trip to the Gulf Islands as well as Vancouver Island. This beautiful sunset truly capped off this year in a breathtaking fashion.

La Paz is breathtakingly beautiful this time of year. The humidity of the summer rain season has passed and the high season is in full swing. We have had more than our fair share of setbacks, problems, and little unexpected surprises in preparing Iolar Mara for departure but she is back in the water, the wiring and corrosion issues are almost all repaired, and it looks like we may be able to leave as early as Wednesday.

Leaving San José del Cabo West bound. Passing Cabo San Lucas to starboard. It's not about how much money you have down here. It's who you know, and how you treat them. I was able to get departure paperwork handled on a Sunday. This is one of the rarest pieces of paper you will ever see in Mexico.

Well,
we made it to San Jose del Cabo early yesterday morning after a four day journey South. We managed to put three wahoo and four dorado on the deck as we traveled through Baja California Sur. Unfortunately Hurricane Priscilla is heading our way and we will get plenty of wind, waves, and rain for a couple days. Despite the fact that she will make a left turn before making landfall to consume the moisture still contained by tropical storm Octave. This will obviously delay the start of the San José del Cabo fishing tournament. Safety first!

Hmmmm,
This ditch bag and first aid kit have both seen better days. With a roughly 800 mile trip just 10 days away, it's time for a replacement. This is a great opportunity to upgrade both of these very important bags. What is your life worth?

Communication is an essential part of travel. For that reason, I use a phone that has eSIM capability along with a dual SIM slot that allows me to switch back and forth between three phone numbers. T-Mobile is my provider in the U.S.A., in Mexico, I have Telcel, and in Canada, I have Chatr, which is a division of Rodgers communications.
This configuration gives me 3 local phone numbers, as well as 3 data connections. Redundancy is never a bad thing when it comes to technology. People are more likely to pick up a call from a local number, and that's an additional advantage.

We have crossed the Straight of Juan De Fuca and cleared customs into Canada. My clients have learned so much during their educational journey. Going from not knowing port from starboard, to being able to operate their 82 foot Horizon with very little input or intervention on my part.
Durring the last year, Rick Christensen and I have helped teach the owners everything from basic maintenance, to advanced close quarters maneuvering techniques and strategy. Rick was instrumental in helping our clients to find a yacht that would fit their cruising goals well and Liberty is a perfect fit.

I have returned from the awesome experience that is Baja California. All my deliveries to clients were completed and everyone was happy to get their replacement parts and new toys. On top of that, I got to experience the breathtaking beauty of Baja.
