WHAT LIBERTA TAUGHT ME ABOUT SERVING FROM ABUNDANCE ❤️
When I started building Liberta Car Rental, naturally I thought a lot about cars.
Bookings.
Prices.
Customers.
Expenses.
Problems.
Profit.
That's business.
But somewhere along the journey, something changed in the way I looked at it.
I started noticing that the moments that gave me the most satisfaction were not necessarily the biggest bookings.
Sometimes it was helping a guest who had a problem.
Sometimes it was giving someone advice even when there was nothing for Liberta to gain from it.
Sometimes it was simply seeing a guest leave Mauritius happy and knowing that, in our own small way, we had contributed to their experience.
And slowly I understood something about myself.
I enjoy serving.
But more importantly, I discovered that there are two very different places from which we can serve.
We can serve from scarcity:
What am I going to get from this?
How much can I make?
Is this worth my time?
Or we can serve from abundance:
I already have enough within me.
What can I bring to this person's experience?
That doesn't mean forgetting that Liberta is a business.
We have salaries. Cars to maintain. Insurance. Suppliers. Responsibilities. And yes, the business needs to make a profit.
But profit and generosity don't have to fight each other.
I can run a profitable business and still genuinely care about the person standing in front of me.
Today, when someone rents a car from Liberta, I try to remember:
For us, it might be another booking.
For them, it might be their first morning in Mauritius. 🇲🇺
Their honeymoon.
Their family holiday.
A trip they saved for all year.
A memory their children might carry for the rest of their lives.
Suddenly, handing over a car doesn't feel like such a small thing.
We are becoming a little part of someone's journey.
And that realization changed something in me.
I don't want to build Liberta from a place of fear about what we might lose.
I want to build it from a place of love, generosity and abundance — thinking about what we can give.
Because I've learned that when you serve people genuinely, something interesting happens.
They feel it.
Your team feels it.
Your partners feel it.
And you feel it too.
Maybe abundance isn't about how much we have.
Maybe abundance is realizing how much we already have to give.
That has become part of the way I see Liberta today.
And for me, that makes the whole difference. ❤️
