10 Years of SeaNet SuperYachts

Ten years ago, SeaNet SuperYachts was launched at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

Today, we celebrate our first decade.

It’s Cannes Yachting Festival week! 🇫🇷

As the festival will commence tomorrow, team SeaNet SuperYachts has entered the French Riviera, starting off with a tasteful visit to the capital of yachting: Monaco, Monte Carlo.

Today marks the final day of preparations before welcoming you at the festival to celebrate our 10th anniversary together. The SeaNet SuperYachts team will be there the entire week, between 8-13 September, at stand Palais 200 in Vieux Port.

We hope to see you for a very exciting edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival once again 👋

A glimpse of what awaits in Cannes next week 🛥️

With the Cannes Yachting Festival starting next Tuesday, the final preparations are underway to welcome you to our stand at Palais 200.

Among the highlights, SeaNet SuperYachts will present this full-custom 32-metre Van der Valk. Built in the Netherlands and delivered in 2019, this all-aluminium yacht combines distinctive custom design with exceptional space and versatility.

Currently available for sole ownership, the yacht will be on display throughout the Cannes Yachting Festival, offering visitors the opportunity to step aboard and discover her in person.

Behind the Build: Episode 3 with David Seal is now live 🎥

A superyacht does not begin at the shipyard.

Long before the first construction milestone, there is a vision to define, decisions to make and countless details to get right.

With David Seal from Yachts for Sale, SeaNet Superyachts is taking you inside that process through a four-part documentary series following the journey of a 53-metre full-custom superyacht.

The first two episodes have already explored different sides of the project.
Episode 1 followed the SeaNet SuperYachts team through the final delivery preparations, showing the coordination and attention to detail behind the handover of the yacht.

Episode 2 shifted the focus to SeaNet SuperYachts’ role as an operator, with David speaking to Matty Zadnikar, Founder of SeaNet SuperYachts, about smarter yacht ownership and professional Yacht, Crew and Hospitality Management.

Now, Episode 3 takes us back to the build itself.

Continuing his conversation with Matty, David explores how this 53-metre full-custom project came together and the thinking behind the decisions that shaped it.

From the initial concept and design choices to owner representation and build supervision, the episode reveals how much of a yacht’s future is determined before she ever touches the water.

We Were Asked to Find a Buyer.
We Designed a personalised Owner’s Solution.

When the Azimut dealer responsible for the sale of a 25-metre Magellano contacted us, the initial question was straightforward: did SeaNet SuperYachts have a client who might want to acquire the yacht?

The yacht had been offered for a conventional 100% sale. Before we started looking for a buyer, however, we wanted to understand why the owner wanted to sell.

He was not dissatisfied with the yacht. His ambitions had simply evolved.

The owner wanted to begin developing a fully custom steel-and-aluminium explorer yacht for extended cruising in Scandinavia and other northern waters. That development and construction process is expected to take approximately two years.

Selling the existing yacht in full would have meant giving it up immediately, long before the explorer was ready. It would also have treated the sale of one yacht and the development of the next as two separate events, while they were in fact part of one ownership journey.

So we designed a phased ownership solution.
An initial 50% participation, consisting of 16.67% and 33.33% ownership interests, was transferred to incoming co-owners. This made part of the capital invested in the yacht available to the owner at the start of his explorer project, while allowing him to continue using a yacht he already knows and enjoys.

At the same time, a pre-agreed pathway was established for the phased sale of his remaining 50% participation over the following two years.

The owner therefore has certainty that he can complete his exit by the end of the transition, without being forced to stop cruising during the development and construction of his next yacht.
