In the Superpole race I made an OK start but then Loris Baz came on the inside, so I got a little bit flustered. I knew I had to keep the rhythm really fast in the beginning because it was a good opportunity. Using the softer SCX tyre for the sprint race has a lot of potential but we did not do so many laps on it in practice, and the conditions were not as hot. So, thanks to my team because Pere and all the guys gave me a really good set-up. In race two I went wide at one point and that gave Chaz the chance to attack in turn one but I wanted to attack him back straight away and set my own rhythm. I knew I could push and put my head down again. I did not expect the pace I had today in race two; I was so surprised. I knew I could be fast and the Superpole race gave me a lot of confidence. When I could really get stuck into the 1’50 laps, and keep that load going at the beginning of the race, it was easier to manage when the tyre would drop. I learned from race one yesterday.

The new Arai Urban-V open-face helmet blends classic style with cutting-edge Arai protection, comfort and ventilation technology. It’s a classic retro-style open-face helmet rich in period details like traditional stitched faux leather edge trim and interior accents. Though packed with modern technical features that enhance comfort and protection, like a stronger outer-shell silhouette and a (hidden) interior ventilation.

Although a nod to the past, the Concept-X is very much a helmet of the present. Ready for a generation of modern riders that demand a new, old style - but with the performance and comfort only an Arai can provide.

ARAI: A HISTORY
There was a time some 40 years ago when all helmets were similar in their ability to protect the wearer. In retrospective, we have to admit that our product was only average at that time. Mitch Arai, however, became dissatisfied with being just average and wanted Arai to be something more. In 1976, he not only made the decision to “make Arai better”, but set his goal to “be the number one helmet in the world”.

Arai RX-7V IoM TT 2020

Unfortunately, the 2020 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy may have been cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic (and the governmental health guidelines that are in place around Europe) but while the sound of racing motorcycles will not now echo down Bray Hill this summer one part of the annual festival will be available – the 2020 Isle of Man TT Limited Edition Arai RX-7V is to be released as planned.

The decision was made by Arai Helmet (Europe) B.V. in order to honour the spirit of the TT in its absence and satisfy the legions of TT aficionados that look forward to the new design each year.

THE LATEST ADDITION TO A COLLECTION OF UNIQUE HELMETS HONOURS TT SPIRIT.

Unfortunately, the 2020 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy may have been cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic (and the governmental health guidelines that are in place around Europe) but while the sound of racing motorcycles will not now echo down Bray Hill this summer one part of the annual festival will be available – the 2020 Isle of Man TT Limited Edition Arai RX-7V!
The decision was made by Arai in order to honour the spirit of the TT in its absence and satisfy the legions of TT aficionados that look forward to the new design each year.

Ingmar Stroeven, Arai Helmet (Europe) B.V. Managing Director:
“These are challenging times and sometimes sport must take a back seat to life. We were really looking forward to revealing our 2020 Isle of Man TT Limited Edition RX-7V on Friday the 27th of March on the Isle of Man, alongside Michael Dunlop and Steve Plater. But it’s not to be. For all of us at Arai the TT is such a special event and one we engage with completely, in terms of riders and fans alike. And it is for this reason we have decided to go ahead with this year’s Isle of Man TT Limited Edition RX-7V – which we feel is absolutely stunning – and do our part to keep the irrepressible feeling of the TT alive.”

2007 - 2020
Arai’s Isle of Man TT Limited Edition RX-7s have proved extremely collectable since the very first one which broke cover back in 2007. Every year the challenge is to draft something new using the same key elements and the 2020 design (with input from the legendary Drudi Performance) is simply breath taking.

2020 design
Using classic lines and a bold Black/Red/Gold colour combination to great effect it also subtly holds the familiar TT-specific details, like Ellan Vannin (the Manx name for the Isle of Man) in Celtic-style lowercase script mirroring ISLE OF MAN either side of the central Arai logo, as well as the three legs of man – the famous triskelion – highlighted in Gold (against an outline of the 37.73mile/60.725km TT course) on the sides and chinbar. A stylised outline of the Senior Trophy, flanked by LIMITED EDITION tags are the finishing touches.

From the very beginning helmets have been much more than just a business for Arai.

Started from a need for self-protection, evolving into a pursuit of always improving, even if only by small increments.

The accumulation of many such small improvements over time can show remarkable results, even beyond our expectations.
