We would like to extend our warm congratulations to Dr Byron Camilleri on his appointment as Minister for Sports.

We wish him every success in his new role and look forward to working together for the continued growth and development of motorsport, for the benefit of our racers,club and the entire motorsport community.

At the same time, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Hon. Clifton Grima for his support, dedication, and valuable contribution to the sporting sector during his tenure. We thank him for his past work and wish him every success in his new role and future endeavors.

FIA/FIM Main Event 2026 ☀️🥵

32+ degree air temps, 130+ track temps made it very challenging for all race teams this weekend. A very strange UK weekend which will be remembered for a while.

Despite all this the 3 maltese teams still managed to put on a great performance.

In Top Fuel Bike, Glenn Borg placed up in a semi final finish against 5 second runner Gustaffson, after qualifying 4th with a 6.59 and 6.60, while also registering speed at 215mph. Team struggled with traction issues, a problem that challenged everyone this weekend.

Luke Farrugia’s weekend was a rollercoaster ride. After qualifying 2nd place in Top Fuel Bike being the quickest and also the fastest from the funnybikes, running 3x in the 6.4s with personal best runs both in ET and Speed at 6.403 and 217mph passes, a leak in the burnout ended his day early on Sunday.

In Superstreet bike, Simon Giordmaina started the weekend with a 6.85 at 220 in testing, showing big potential for more, but as everyone struggled in the heat that was not repeated in Qualifying. But on raceday everything lined up all together with a PB of 6.78 at 222mph right up in E1. Onto E2, team did the best they could but had to bow down to a world class performance by Dani Lecenses running all weekend in the 6.50s.

Congratulations to all teams for doing the best they could in these most extreme conditions, never even seen in Malta. Onwards and upwards for the rest of the season.

The European Drag Racing season fires into life this week at the Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway!

Three Maltese riders will be flying the flag in the FIM European Championship classes and are ready to take on Europe’s best. 💪🔥

Luke Farrugia heads into the weekend full of confidence after an incredible debut onboard the Krojs-Warpspeed Pro Mod Bike at the Festival of Power last month, where he took victory on his very first outing. Now, his focus switches back to the FIM Top Fuel Bike category as he looks to carry that momentum into the championship opener.

Glenn Borg returns to action on the General Lee Pro Mod Bike after an impressive 2025 season, where the team recorded a personal best performance in FIM Top Fuel Bike competition. With several upgrades made over the winter, the team is ready to push even harder this season.

Simon Giordmaina will line up in Super Street Bike onboard his turbocharged Hayabusa, aiming for a strong start to the European campaign.

We are extremely saddened to share that Kyle Loftis, the founder of 1320video, passed away last night. We are in a state of shock.

Kyle’s passion for motorsports inspired millions of people around the world and we will never forget what he has done to grow our beloved sport. Kyle was a beam of light at every gathering… his enthusiasm, kindness, and creativeness was contagious.

Let us pray that Kyle is in a better place.
