Workshop Progress Report: Interior Trim & Seat Fitment
The technical update tracks ongoing upholstery fitment and interior assembly for the Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6,3 w109 restoration project.
The accompanying photographs illustrate the step-by-step restoration of cabin components prior to final fitment. The seat frames were blasted, painted, and rebuilt with fresh spring padding and authentic cognac perforated leather. This week we installed the restored front seats, securing the adjustment rails, hinges, and seatbelts to the floorpan mounts. Additional interior trim elements—including the rear seatback storage nets and leather door column covers—were similarly overhauled and fitted.

The technical update documents the transition from body preparation to initial assembly for the Mercedes Benz 300SEL3,5 w109 1972 restoration project.
During the past week, we finished the car body painting and started assembling process. The main bodyshell passed through surface sanding, masking, and base-coat/clear-coat application in a deep metallic green finish. In addition, we also painted in black some body parts like factory original, including the dashboard sub-structure, cross-member supports, and floor-pan reinforcement crossbeams. The painted shell has now been moved to the main assembly bay to begin initial interior and component fitment.

The technical report details the dismantling and teardown phase for the Mercedes Benz 250SL w113 restoration project.
This week we removed, dismantled and inspected the dashboard units and wiring. Technicians carefully extracted the main VDO instrument clusters, including the speedometer, tachometer, and central multi-gauge display. All rear electrical terminals, bulb sockets, and mechanical drive cables were disconnected, tagged, and systematically cataloged. Additionally, the main dashboard wire harness and underlying relay switches were fully unthreaded from the cabin structure to allow thorough continuity testing and harness overhaul.
Detailed photo documentation of this dismantling process is published at: https://www.rmw.lv/page/en/mercedes-benz-250sl-w113-dismantling/

The technical report details chassis reassembly milestone tasks for the Mercedes Benz 190SL restoration project.
Work performed this week focused on completing the undercarriage mechanical sub-assemblies. This week we finished the assembling and installation process of the rear axle assembling. Technicians pre-assembled all small hardware, rubber mounts, and spring seats before mounting the restored rear single-joint swing axle unit onto the chassis. Following subframe fitment, brake lines, cables, trailing arms, coil springs, and the central compensating spring mechanism were torque-spec aligned and integrated beneath the painted floorpan.
Additional restoration photographs documenting this assembly phase are located at: https://www.rmw.lv/page/en/mercedes-benz-190sl-w121-1958-assembling-and-final-tests
