Ferrari disaster. Today we can say that justice has been served.
Only two drivers deserve to win the drivers' title: Max Verstappen and Andrea Kimi Antonelli and the winner will be the latter.
Both make no mistakes, both are consistently fast. Max Verstappen also works miracles, like today's overtaking of Hamilton, who seemed much more of a rookie than Antonelli, who drives like a veteran.
Then there are two teams, Mercedes and Red Bull, capable of winning the championship this year; the other teams can win Grands Prix but not the championship.
The Ferrari car, on the other hand, would have been a title winner, uncatchable on the corners and very good in everything else. Along with the Mercedes, it's the best car of the bunch.
But even the best car can't win without a team and drivers and this is the case with Ferrari.
Even in Hungary, with a car capable of taking pole and a one-two finish, they failed to even qualify on the first two rows and finished fourth and fifth in the race, meaning they missed even the podium.
The fourth place also deducted points from the fifth-place finisher, who could have been fighting for the title.
The team principal stopped Hamilton when he was second and pitted him in fourth, which then dropped to fifth after a penalty for speeding in the pit lane—a penalty that wouldn't have been imposed without the suicidal pit stop, as useless as it was damaging. And then he rejoined the track behind Antonelli. And it's not the first time; a similar incident occurred a few races ago.
Leclerc botched yet another start and Hamilton, in addition to his sleep during Max’s overtaking move, should be reminded that penalties aren't prizes to be won, but sanctions to be avoided. He practically gets them all.
Lewis, however, remains a champion; he admits his faults and he does so by looking you in the eye. We expect a comeback from him.
For us, the world championship is over, but at least we can ask for wins wherever we can.
