EV chargers change the landscapes of our cities and towns.

As manufacturers of charging stations, our responsibility is to design chargers that not only fit into the already built environment but also enhance it.

AC chargers are inherently smaller than fast-charging stations, so they naturally don’t bulk up the environment as much. But size isn’t the only thing that matters. The colour and material of the housing, lighting, and the shape of the charger – it all adds to the architectural landscape.

From the very beginning, the Fusion Concept team sought EV charging solutions that were not only reliable and easy to install but also aesthetically aligned with each project's concept.

For academic institutions, the challenge is no longer whether to install EV charging, but how to choose an EV charger that is reliable, scalable, and suitable for public use.

Truth is, the vast majority of campus charging sessions involve long dwell times. Staff, researchers, and students typically park for several hours at a time. In this context, AC charging provides the right balance of power and efficiency, allowing EVs to charge steadily without placing unnecessary strain on the electricity supply.

At its Medical Science Centre, Vilnius University selected our CityCharge V2 charging stations to support its campus mobility needs. The university required a premium-looking, highly reliable EV charging solution, backed by responsive and knowledgeable local technical support.

What do you need to know to install an EV charger in your home?

Home charging is the most convenient (and often the cheapest) way to “refuel” your EV.

Before you jump in, here are a few things worth checking:

1. Your parking spot
Do you have a fixed parking place (garage, carport, private spot)? That’s where your charger will live. The closer it is to your electrical panel, the simpler (and cheaper) the installation.

2. Your home’s electrical capacity
Can your current electrical system handle an EV charger? An electrician can quickly check the size of your main fuse and suggest the right charger power (e.g., 7,4 kW / 11 kW).

3. Cable route & distance
The longer and more complex the cable route is, the more work it requires of the installer. Take a look: are there easy paths along walls/ceilings from your main board to the parking spot?

4. Innovative features & load balancing
A smart charger can:
- Avoid overloading your home (load balancing)
- Charge when electricity is cheaper
- Let you track costs in an app

5. Professional installation
Always use a certified electrician/installer - it’s about safety, warranty, and long-term reliability.
