Due to recent special police checks in South Coast (Weligama, Mirissa, Galle area), all foreign tourists must have the correct driving permit to ride scooters or motorbikes in Sri Lanka.
🔹 International Driving Permit (IDP) ALONE is NOT enough
🔹 A Sri Lanka Local Driving Permit is REQUIRED by law
🔹 Best & easiest option: Airport Temporary Driving Permit
🔹 Valid for Scooters & Motorbikes only (Not Tuk-Tuk)
🔹 Without proper permit, police may issue fines, court dates & bike stops
