Mitsubishi Montero sport is a boxy bold designed wagon type SUV manufactured since 1996.This vehicle is the sibling of Mitsubishi Montero which is more luxurious.
The first-generation Mitsubishi Montero sport was produced in japan from 1996-2008.This has a box type flowless design. Then the second generation was produced from 2008-2016. Then the new Montero sport is in production line since 2015.

The second generation is mainly assembled in Thailand for all markets. This vehicle is a bold design compared to its previous generation. This is having a ladder frame chassis which is mostly used in off-road vehicles for extreme conditions and high towing capabilities. This ladder frame structure gives more ground clearance than unibody designs. So these vehicles have the ability to drive in extreme off-road conditions. Most off-road vehicles such as Toyota Hilux, Toyota Fortunar, Mitsubishi l200,Nissan Navara, Ford ranger etc.

In sri Lanka the most common engine of this vehicle is 𝟰𝗗𝟱𝟲-𝗧 𝟮.𝟱-𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝟴-𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗢𝗛𝗖 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 giving a maximum output of 𝟣𝟩𝟧 𝖻𝗁𝗉 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝟦𝟢𝟢𝖭𝗆 𝗈𝖿 𝗍𝗈𝗋𝗊𝗎𝖾 which gives about 𝟔-𝟖𝐤𝐦𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟖-𝟏𝟐𝐤𝐦𝐩𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲.
This vehicle has 5 types of engine variants, as 2.4L inline 4 cylinder petrol(4G69), 3.0L v6 petrol(6B31), 3.5L v6 petrol(6G74), 2.5L inline 4 cylinder diesel(4D56T), 3.2L inline 4 cylinder diesel(4M41). Apart of 2.5L Turbo intercooled engine others are very rare in sri Lanka.
Most common transmission is 5 speed Automatic transmission with sport mode and there are having 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic gearboxes also.

This vehicle has tall thin type body, so the body-roll of this vehicle is quite higher than others in the segment. So when driving on bends this has to be driven very carefully.

Land Cruiser Prado Tx J150 2014

Land cruiser prado is one of the iconic vehicle produce by the Toyota that proves
reliability, power and comfort of brand toyota . Land cruiser family has a remarkable history in Dakar Rally and also holds the world record for longest drive of all time. prado holds a descent selling record in many countries. Specially
in sri lanka Toyota land cruiser models and land cruiser prado models are more
popular. Prado is a full size four wheel drive suv with seven seats. Also it is one of
the smaller suv in the range. First generation of prado introduced in 1990 here
we talk about the fourth generation of prado J150 that production continues from
2009 to present.
J150 is a all four wheel drive suv. Firstly in 2014 came the first face lift model and
in 2018 came the second face lift model. There are both diesel and petrol versions
of prado.
Diesel versions comes as follow-

• 3.0l 5L-E (2009- present)
• 3.0l 1KD-FTV turbo (2009-2014)
• 3.0l 1GD-FTV turbo (2015- present)

All diesel engines are four cylinder and 1KD and 1GD engines are common
rail engines.
Petrol versions comes as follow-

• 2.7l 2TR FE(2009-present)
• 4.0l 1GR-FE(2009-present)
• 3.5l 7GR-FKS V6 (2015- present)

In sri lanka we can see all types of diesel versions and 2.7l petrol version
most commonly. These vehicles comes with
4 speed automatic
5 speed manual/automatic
6 speed manual/automatic

Gear boxes. It vary with the grade of the vehicle. 3.0l 5L non turbo version
is almost a budget type vehicles commonly use in government sector. It’s
feel bit under powered when compared to other diesel versions but
capable of playing a suv role in any condition.
Other diesel versions carries lot of power.2.7l petrol version bit under powered but when comparing to comfort it is not a big issue. Normally petrol versions offer more comfort
than diesel versions and easy to maintain. Performance ,stability and
comfort of the vehicle is remarkable as a Japanese suv. Also it can be used
for off roading, not for tough off roading with stock vehicle.

From 2009 to 2018 there weren’t much different in vehicle except exterior change, 1GD
engine replacement of 1Kd engine and some safety options. In 2018 toyota
did number of changes to J150. Technology wise 2018 model is few steps
ahead from other versions. Newer models include different drive modes
to use in different driving conditions. And from 2015 Toyota add some
safety features and from 2018 it comes with the Toyota safety sense
package.

Normally export version carries a lot of options than JDM versions. Here are the
grades of the vehicle-

TX(petrol), TXL(TX limited)(petrol/diesel) commonly see in Sri Lanka
GX, GXL basic grades
VX, VXL luxury models making for export
TZ and TZG luxuries JDM versions

It’s a good vehicle to use as a family vehicle and also for a car enthusiastic 4l
petrol V6 would be much better which offer more horsepower and options. But
the highest torque gives the 2.8l diesel which much better for off-roading. Diesel
engines have fuel consumption of 8.5-8.8L/100km (manual-auto) and Petrol
engines have 11.5L/100km for the auto.

most commonly reported issues of the vehicle are
Injector Problems – Caused by adulterated fuel.
Fuel Pump Failure – Caused by adulterated fuel.
Turbo Failure – Not very common- caused by poor maintenance

𝗕𝗠𝗪 𝟳𝟰𝟬𝗟𝗲 𝗫 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟴

𝗕𝗠𝗪 𝟳𝟰𝟬𝗟𝗲 𝗫 , a rather called ‘𝘉𝘔𝘞 7-𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘺𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘥’ which ‘e’ drivetrain twins a 2-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with an electric motor, for a total output of 326bhp and 500Nm torque. It has 8 speed automatic gearbox. In this category there having two variants which rear-wheel-drive as 740e and long-wheelbase 7-Series as 740Le.

It can drive up to 140 kmph with only the motor itself in max e drive mode. When it drives in auto mode it uses ev mode in urban areas with cruise and regenerates its battery through regenerative braking system and kicks the engine when it requires. However it can only ride around 40km with only the battery itself.

When lay back on the rear seat you feel like you’re in a private jet. This vehicle is very luxurious and very silent in the cabin. Air suspension is also very smooth like floating when it rides. Tab integrated to the armrest of rear seat control lots of settings in the car including massage seats.This petrol hybrid sedan having all of the features including Semi autonomous steering assistance, cruise control, gesture inputs and many more luxury features.

With all of those features and luxurious this sedan weigh around two tones and 5.3m long beast can go to 0-100kmph in just 5.3 s having top speed of 250kmph. With all of those features this vehicle gives around 30-40 kmpl fuel economy. This beast cost about 25Mn upwards in sri lanka.
