This Mitsubishi Lancer CK2 came in with high CO readings and failed its emission test due to a faulty carburetor choke system. The choke plays a key role during cold starts — it enriches the air-fuel mixture by restricting airflow, helping the engine start smoothly.
However, when the choke system sticks partially closed, even after warm-up, it causes the engine to run too rich, increasing fuel consumption, carbon deposits, and emissions.

After diagnosing and properly adjusting the choke mechanism, we noticed immediate improvement — smooth idle, better throttle response, improved acceleration, and lower fuel consumption.

Sometimes a simple mechanical correction makes all the difference in both performance and efficiency. ✅

One of the most common engine problems we see during head repair is valve oil seal leakage. 🧰



When the valve oil seals become hard, worn out, or cracked, they fail to properly seal the valve stems — allowing engine oil to leak into the combustion chamber.
This oil gets burned together with the air–fuel mixture, creating blue smoke from the exhaust. 🔵💨

⚙️ Typical Symptoms:
1. Blue smoke mainly when starting after long parking or deceleration.
2. High oil consumption (engine oil level drops quickly).
3. Spark plugs fouled with oily deposits.
4. Rough idle and poor combustion efficiency.

🔍 Causes:
• Old or hardened valve seals (heat damage).
• Worn valve guides or excessive valve stem clearance.
• Overheated engine head causing seal shrinkage.
• Incorrect or improper assembly during previous rebuilds.

🛠️ Repair Process at Enso Tec Tuners:

✅ Cylinder head removed and fully stripped.
✅ Valves, guides, and seats inspected & measured.
✅ New high-temperature valve stem seals installed.
✅ Head surface checked for warpage and skimmed if needed.
✅ Final assembly with correct torque and timing alignment.

After the repair, the engine regains proper sealing, smoother idle, better compression, and no more blue smoke! 💪💨.
