Basic 12V Wiring Installation
Most analog fuel gauges feature three primary threaded terminal posts on the back of the housing:
1. "I" or "G" (Ignition / Power): Connects to a 12V DC power wire that is hot only when the vehicle's key is switched on.
2. "GND" or "B-" (Ground): Connects to the vehicle chassis or the negative terminal of the battery.
3. "S" (Signal): Connects directly to the single wire extending from the fuel tank's sending unit.
