A Catalytic Converter is found in the exhaust system between the Engine and the Muffler.
It helps to clean exhaust emissions using chemical reaction with accelerants like Platinum, Rhodium and Palladium that oxidise Hydrocarbons and Carbon Monoxide to Carbon Dioxide and Water.
It also reduces Nitrogen Oxide to (elemental)Nitrogen and Oxygen.

The EGR( Exhaust Gas Recirculator) helps in reducing the amount of Nitrogen Oxide produced by allowing some amount of exhaust gas back into the intake manifold, where it's mixed with air and since the exhaust gases have already been burnt, the excess oxygen is not present in the exhaust gases therefore the formation of Nitrogen Oxide is decreased.
A build up of carbon particles could clog the valve causing the EGR to fail.
Poor acceleration, rough idle and the illumination of the Check Engine Light might be symptoms of its failure.
Advantages of the EGR include reduction of harmful air pollutants and reduced fuel consumption.

Anti lock brake system uses ABS sensors located in each wheel to monitor the speed of the wheel and send this information to the ABS control module which continuously and repeatedly applies optimum braking pressure to each wheel, meaning the system will brake just enough to not lock the wheels.
