A decade + since I ventured into this industry.

Structures rarely failed and you could find less steel materials in use. Additionally, the strength of then steel; Y-bars had less strength compared to the current D/T- bars leave alone the grip aspect.
Building stones, ballast, sand and cement as well had their properties as desired unlike the current state of the said materials. Cement; apart from the reduction in the kgs, its strength too is compromised. Ballasts are no longer well graded, e.t.c
It's a clear indication that the design aspect, workmanship and the bearing capacity aren't the only challenges, materials are. Prior to delivering materials on site, kindly seek the advice of the respective professional.
