ENGINE OIL LEAK. This may not seem like a problem at first, leaks are barely visible. Over time however the seals keeping the oil inside where it's meant to be, dry up and shrink. the shrinkage is barely seen by the human eye. However, where tempeartures reach a high of 98c and pressure forces the engine oil everywhere it can push as fast as possible.
another source of leakage is from a cracked sump, timing cover and top cover. The pics show a aluminum crankcase for a J31 engine with leaks

Also, on the issue of overheating, apart from cleaning the radiator and refilling coolant, other causes of overheating are blocked radiator core, radiator core leak and burst hose pipe or connector, as shown in pics. Proper maintenance of the radiator, hose pipes and clips and connectors are important for optimal running of the engine.

Cleaning your radiator is something that goes a long way in ensuring the car cooling system does its job, cool the engine. While running the engine needs to be cooled to avoid damaging the structure of the part. We say a car has overheated when the temperature gauge goes to H or the temperature light turns red. Overheating can be due to many reasons. The radiator is an integral part of the cooling system. Use of coolant and regular checks for top up or leakages is advised. The use of water to fill the radiator creates rust in the radiator as shown in pic, causing blockages and eventually overheating
