​Imagine driving up a hill, your engine is screaming at high RPMs, but the car is barely moving. It’s a frustrating and honestly worrying feeling for any driver. Most people would immediately think the engine is dying, but as we see in this 2015 Suzuki S-Cross with 168k KM, the real "crime scene" is underneath. This major transmission leak isn't just a mess on the driveway. It’s starving the CVT of the hydraulic pressure it needs to actually grip the drive belt. Without that fluid, the belt slips, the car jerks, and you lose all that climbing power. It’s a perfect example of why we do "vehicle inspections" because what sounds like an engine failure is actually a gearbox crying for help.

Did you know engine oil is a solvent to rubber? In this Subaru GH2 (EL15 engine), a leaking front crankshaft seal is more than just a mess. When oil enters the timing cover, it causes the timing belt to swell and soften.
​Once those teeth lose their grip, the belt can skip or snap. Because this is an interference engine, a snapped belt means pistons hitting valves; a very expensive "handshake" you want to avoid.

⚪ White smoke: If it only shows on a cold start, it’s just condensation burning off — normal. But if it keeps going after the engine warms up, that means coolant is leaking into the cylinders. Could be a blown head gasket, cracked head, or leaking turbo.

🔵 Blue smoke: This means the engine is burning oil. Usually caused by worn piston rings, valve seals, or turbo seals. You’ll also notice your oil level dropping.

⚫ Black smoke: That means too much fuel is being burned — common with bad injectors, a clogged air filter, or faulty sensors, especially in diesels.
