RCカーの他にはプラモデルも好きですが、なかなか時間が取れていません。ずっと箱を眺めているのはホンダCR450RとヤマハYZR500。どっちも最高です。

子供の頃、『ヤマハ ビラーゴとツーリングライダー』にも憧れた事もありましたが、ちょっと大人っぽく見えてしまって「これは大人になってから作ろう」と思ってました。
いつかその頃の夢を叶えてやろうと思ってますが、まずはキットを探すところから始めなくてはいけません😂

Besides RC cars, I’ve always loved plastic model kits too, although I never seem to find enough time to build them. The boxes I’ve been staring at lately are the Honda CR450R and Yamaha YZR500. Both are absolutely fantastic.

As a kid, I also dreamed of building the Yamaha Virago and Touring Rider kits. They seemed a little too grown-up for me back then, so I told myself, “I’ll build those when I’m older.” One day I’d like to make that childhood dream come true. First, though, I need to find the kits. 😂

布地を使ったRCカーカスタム。
単純に見た目を変えるためではなく、RCカーにファッションの視点を持ち込めないかと思ったのがきっかけです。
直線的で硬いイメージのRCカーに柔らかな素材を加えることで、工業製品にはない手仕事感が生まれます。

また、布地は素材やカラーの組み合わせが無限大。比較的シンプルな加工でRCカーの雰囲気を大きく変えられる自由度の高さも魅力です。

ファッションとも親和性の高い素材だけに、RCカーを表現の媒体として捉えるうえでも、新たな可能性を感じさせてくれます。

そして個人的にはメキシコなどを走る実車のオフロードバギーの写真を見ていると先述の『工業製品にはない手仕事感 』を感じます。そうした人の手の痕跡こそが、RCカーに新たな魅力を与えるヒントになる気がしています。

A fabric-based RC car customization project.

The idea wasn’t simply to change the appearance, but to explore whether a fashion-oriented perspective could be introduced into the world of RC cars.

By adding soft materials to the typically rigid and mechanical image of an RC car, it creates a handcrafted character that industrial products alone cannot express.

Fabric also offers virtually endless possibilities through different materials, textures, and color combinations. Another appealing aspect is the freedom it provides—relatively simple modifications can dramatically transform the overall atmosphere of an RC car.

Because fabric naturally shares a close relationship with fashion, it also suggests new possibilities for viewing RC cars as a medium for creative expression.

Personally, when I look at photos of full-scale off-road buggies racing through places like Mexico, I see the same handcrafted character I mentioned earlier—something that industrial products alone cannot express.
The traces of human hands, ingenuity, and improvisation are everywhere. I believe those qualities may hold the key to bringing a new kind of appeal to RC cars.

LIGHTNING BANANA🍌

昨年、オーストラリア・コフスハーバーを訪れた際に、Matt とLightning Boltについて話したことがきっかけでアイデアを練り始め、先日ついに完成。
コフスハーバーは豊かな自然に囲まれた街だけど、そこには「BIG BANANA」という街で唯一っぽいテーマパークがあって、なぜかちょっとだけ立ち寄ったんだけど、それを思い出としてこのバイクに取り入れてみた🍌⚡️

LIGHTNING BANANA 🍌
Last year, while visiting Coffs Harbour, Australia, I was talking with Matt about the Lightning Bolt, and that conversation sparked the idea for this project. After a lot of planning and refining, it finally came together the other day.

Coffs Harbour is a town surrounded by beautiful nature, but it also has a place called BIG BANANA, which feels like the town’s one and only theme park. For some reason, we made a quick stop there, and the memory stuck with me. I decided to incorporate that little piece of the trip into this bike.
