BEFORE → AFTER

This one didn’t end up on the chopping block… 😅

Subaru Forester

Sourced from Japan.
Clean. Honest. Ready to go.

Then it landed with the customer in Canada…

And got the upgrade it deserved 👇

A proper set of alloys can completely change a car.

Same vehicle.
Same condition.

Completely different presence.

It’s amazing what a simple change like wheels can do — turning an everyday car into something properly cool.

From our yard in Japan → to the road in Canada 🇯🇵➡️🇨🇦

Big thanks to the customer for the photo — always great seeing these cars after they land 👌

(If you’ve bought from us, feel free to send your photos through!)

If you're looking to import a vehicle from Japan — whether stock or something to build on — we can help source it directly from the auctions.

🔪 The Chopping Block

BEFORE → AFTER

We bought it.
We inspected it.
We cut it in half…. 😬

Mini Countryman

No major damage.
No major issues.
Just… destiny.

Before anyone panics — this is exactly how we supply genuine OEM parts from Japan.

Front cut ✔️
Rear cut ✔️

Both ends shipped to the same customer.

Still feels wrong though… not gonna lie. 😅

But zoom out for a second 👇

This isn’t just one car.

It’s part of a full 40ft container loaded with cut vehicles — all heading out to keep other cars on the road.

So while one car gets taken apart…

👉 Multiple cars around the world get a second life.

That’s the reality of the parts game.

Complete car → multiple cuts → wrapped → container → shipped 🌍

Need something similar?

We supply cut vehicles as part of full container shipments only — ideal for workshops, importers, and parts businesses.

We source everything directly from Japanese auctions.

Would you save it… or sacrifice it? 😅

Automotive perfection… with a little nostalgia.

This photo was taken when this RS500 Cosworth was still part of my personal collection.

The Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth is one of the most legendary homologation cars ever built. Created so Ford could dominate Group A touring car racing, the RS500 quickly became a monster on track and an icon on the road.
Owning this car was something special.
Every time the garage door opened, you were looking at a piece of motorsport history… and also something that made grown car enthusiasts suddenly forget how to speak properly.

Sadly it’s no longer in my collection today.
But like many cars we’ve owned over the years…
Some stay in the garage.
Some stay in your memory.
And some stay on the list of cars you probably shouldn’t have sold.

👇 Question for enthusiasts:
If someone handed you the keys today… would you take an RS500 Cosworth over a modern supercar?

More photos and the story of the car are in the first comment 👇

How do you fit 20 vehicles into a 40ft container? 🤔

Step 1: Buy them from the Japanese car auctions.
Step 2: Cut them in half.
Step 3: Play the world’s most expensive game of automotive Tetris. 😅

This shipment started with 20 complete vehicles — everything from hatchbacks and SUVs to sports cars.

At first glance you look at them all sitting in the yard and think:

"There’s absolutely no way all of this is fitting in one container."

But with careful planning, professional dismantling, and a lot of experience… it all comes together.

Every vehicle is professionally dismantled and cut, then carefully packed onsite in our yard to maximise space and protect the parts.

No ramming and jamming parts into a container like you sometimes see elsewhere.

Everything is organised, secured, and packed properly so it arrives safely at its destination.

By the end of the process, a single container is filled with:

✔ front clips
✔ body panels
✔ doors
✔ engines and parts
✔ donor vehicle sections

All ready to help bring other vehicles back to life around the world.

Still… standing there at the beginning looking at 20 cars and one container does make you wonder for a moment…

"Are we sure this is going to fit?" 😆

Swipe through the photos to see the process from
complete vehicles ➜ dismantled ➜ professionally packed container.

If you're looking for salvage vehicles, half cuts, front clips, or donor cars from Japan, we can source them directly from the auctions.

Be honest… when you saw the pile of vehicles in the yard, did you think it would all fit? 😅

🔪 The JDM Chopping Block
BEFORE ➜ AFTER

Sometimes this job feels a little… criminal. 😅

This perfectly good car was purchased from the Japanese car auctions, arrived safely at our yard… and then we did the unthinkable.

✂️ We cut it in half.

Don’t worry — this isn’t some kind of automotive horror movie.

The customer needed a front clip, and importing half cuts like this is often the best way to get genuine OEM parts from Japan.

Still… standing there with the saw thinking:
"This car did absolutely nothing wrong." 😆

But thanks to this process, another vehicle somewhere in the world gets a second life.

So technically… we’re not villains.

More like automotive organ donors. 🚗🫀

The transformation from complete auction car ➜ half cut ready for export.

If you're looking for salvage vehicles, half cuts, front clips, or donor cars from Japan, we can source them directly from the auctions.

And yes… this was just one of many cars sacrificed for the greater good in this shipment. 😉

“Most Important Buy of the Year?” 🤔

Now you are probably thinking… why?

Well, let me explain, especially if you are new to importing… and don’t live alone. 😅

I have a customer who has been buying the odd vehicle from me since early 2018. In fact, if you check the comments, there is a video link to his very first purchase.

Since then, he has bought and imported around five cars, mainly the SUV types he likes, with the occasional European sports car slipped in here and there.

But last week an order and brief came through that read:

“Mark, need to buy a small, fuel-efficient, clean vehicle for commuting, this is for the wife, and must have parking sensors and cameras.”

…and I immediately knew this was an extremely important request, especially if the Wife is involved. 😄

This was clearly not another rare Skyline……and definitely not some strange French Group B rally legend with the engine in the back, although I do expect his “Important Buy of the Year” to come through anytime soon. 😉

This one required careful handling.

Within 12 hours, the mission was accomplished and this little gem was bought at auction:

A 2015 Nissan Note.

And not just a normal Note… I note you. 😏

This one is the 1.2L model, with only 13,000 km, complete service books showing around 17 services, and an auction grade 4.5. It’s basically like brand new.

But the most important thing and clearly highlighted in the brief,
it has factory-fitted front & rear parking sensors along with cameras. ✔️

When it comes to the wives, we all know the importance of getting it right.
Some things in life you simply do not take chances with. 😅

So yes… not only do we find and buy your dream cars, sometimes we also help smooth the path at home for those long hours spent scrolling through Japanese car auction listings or those odd sports cars that suddenly turn up in your drive way… lol.

As they say:

Happy Wife / Happy Life. ❤️

Which normally means he can now start looking again for that sports car he has been asking about.

I’m not entirely sure what the parking sensors & cameras were all about though…

My guess is they are actually for when he borrows the car to slip down to the shops. 😉

Anyway, this very important vehicle will be heading to Scotland (UK) shortly. I have already notified the shipping agent and explained the situation…they completely agreed the importance of this shipment.. 👍

Being a car collector myself, and after years of dealing with private buyers, you start to notice a pattern:

3–5 sports cars → one sensible family car → then back to sports cars again.

It’s a cycle. 😄

Which means this customer will likely be back soon…
looking for something with a few more cylinders and a lot less parking aids. 😉

Anyone else here bought a “practical” car… so they could justify the next fun one? 😄

🔥 MITSUBISHI EVO-5
January 3rd, 2013 — a small piece of JDM history happened.

The first Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V legally imported into North America for road use rolled out of a container in Canada…

And it started right here in my yard in Japan.

On January 3rd, 2013, a container arrived in Canada carrying two Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V’s that we had exported from Japan.

When the container doors opened…

The white EVO-5 rolled out first, officially becoming the first EVO-5 to land legally in North America for road use.

At the time there was actually a bit of a race happening online.

Forums were full of discussions about who would be the first person to import an EVO-5 once they became eligible under the 15-year import rule.

One of my customers in Canada had a clear goal.

He wanted to win that race.

He was a huge EVO enthusiast who had already imported EVO III and EVO IV models through us, and he had been patiently waiting years for the EVO-5 to become legal.

I remember saying to him:

“Leave it to me… I’ll make it happen for you.”

So about six months before the eligibility date, we sourced two EVO-5’s and stored them here at my yard in Japan.

But the logistics had to be timed perfectly.

Instead of waiting until January 1st, we shipped the cars about four weeks earlier, carefully planning everything so the container would arrive in Canada right on January 1st, 2013 — the very first day the EVO-5 became legal to import.

We were incredibly lucky with the timing.

By the time the container was unloaded and the doors opened, the white EVO-5 rolled out onto North American soil on January 3rd, 2013, officially becoming the first EVO-5 imported into North America for road use.

At the time we kept everything quiet, while the forums were full of speculation about who would be first.

Then when the cars landed and my customer sent me the photo of him standing there with his two legally imported EVO-5’s…

We shared it.

Game over.

He was officially King of the EVO mountain.

Over the following three months, we exported another 12 EVO-5’s for other customers whose cars had also been purchased months earlier and stored here waiting for eligibility.

Moments like this remind me how long I have been helping enthusiasts around the world import vehicles from Japan.

The landscape of exporting and importing vehicles from Japan has changed a lot since then.

There are many new exporters today, plenty of “experts”, and lots of new faces in the industry.

But 13 years ago, while many were still learning about JDM imports…

we were already making history.

For us it’s never just about the car.

It’s about making something special happen for someone who has been dreaming about owning it.

And that’s something we’ve been doing for many years — and still are today.

💭 Now I’m curious about something…

I often wonder where these two EVO-5’s are today.

And whether the person currently driving the white one realizes they might actually be driving the very first EVO-5 ever imported into North America for road use.

There’s a good chance the current owner may not even know the history behind that car.

👇
If anyone here recognizes either of these EVO-5’s, or knows who owns them today, tag them here — I’d love to hear where they ended up.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time we helped a customer achieve something like this.

About four years earlier, we did something very similar with the Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205.

We actually stored a small collection of 1994 ST205 GT-Four’s here in Japan until they also become legal to import, not just any GT-Four — but genuine WRC versions — all for one very dedicated GT-Four enthusiast in Canada.

But that’s a story for another day…

📈 Next week I’ll share something interesting…

What these EVO-5’s cost back in 2013 compared to today.

Let’s just say…

The difference is unbelievable.

🌏 From a 2023 Lexus hybrid to kei trucks and a legendary rally icon — the Japanese car auctions truly have everything.

Here’s just a small snapshot of vehicles we recently purchased for customers around the world:

🇨🇾 2023 Lexus NX350h heading to Cyprus
🇩🇪 Two Honda Acty 4WD trucks heading to Germany

From modern hybrid luxury…
to ultra-reliable Japanese kei trucks…

This incredible range is exactly why enthusiasts, collectors, and businesses worldwide choose Brave Auto International to source and export vehicles from Japan.

And this is only a small glimpse of the vehicles we help customers find every week through the Japanese auction system.

Today one of my customers asked me:

"Have you purchased anything interesting lately?"

Not really…
just some weird old French car with the engine in the back.

🇫🇷 Renault 5 Turbo 2

Not only is the engine in the back…
it's sitting right behind the driver.

A mid-engine rally homologation car from the 1980s and one of the wildest hot hatches ever built.

Sourced from the Japanese auctions and now preparing for export.

Just another interesting find from Japan.
