In Ageo City, where UD Trucks’ headquarters is located, there have been several accidents in recent years involving trucks and elderly people.

To help prevent such tragic accidents and support the safety and well-being of the local community, UD Trucks has been conducting traffic safety seminars for senior citizens since 2024. These seminars include not only classroom-style lectures, but also hands-on experiences using actual trucks to help participants better understand blind spots and off-tracking (rear wheels follow a shorter path than the front wheels when turning).

In recognition of these efforts, UD Trucks recently received an award from the Saitama Prefecture Safe Driving Managers Association.
We will continue working together with the police and local companies to promote initiatives aimed at reducing traffic accidents throughout the community.

ＵＤトラックス本社がある上尾市内では、近年、トラックと高齢者が関係する事故が複数発生しています。

こうした痛ましい事故を１件でも減らし、地域の皆さまに安心して暮らしていただけるよう、ＵＤトラックスでは2024年より高齢者向け交通安全教室を実施しています。交通安全教室では、座学だけでなく、実車を使用したトラックの死角や内輪差の体験など実践的な内容を行っています。

この取り組みが評価され、先日、埼玉県安全運転管理者協会より表彰を受けました。
今後も警察や地元企業と連携し、地域全体で交通事故を減らすための活動を推進してまいります。

【「バスギア ターミナル」新記事公開 】

みなさんこんにちは！

『バスグラフィック』とコラボレーション中の「バスギア ターミナル」では、WEBコンテンツとして『バスグラフィック』が取材・制作したバスに関する記事を公開しています。

ただいま「日産ディーゼル／西工特集」を展開していますが、第2弾のテーマは、今春に引退したUDトラックスの従来型自社製社バスです。

「社バス」とは社員送迎バスの略で、UDトラックスでは本社・上尾（あげお）工場と最寄り駅との間で従業員を送迎する用途で運行していますが、新型BEV（Battery Electric Vehicle：バッテリー式電気自動車）フルフラット大型路線バス・いすゞエルガEVを社バスとして6台導入したことから、約20年間活躍してきた従来型6台が代替され、本年3月までに引退しました。

引退したこれら6台の社バスは1台1台が非常に個性的であったことから、記事はPART I からPART III の三部構成でじっくりと紹介しています。引退した6台のうち2台は同型・同仕様であるため、紹介する車両を5台とし、先日公開したPART I で1台を紹介しました。

今回公開したPART II では、残る4台のうち2台を紹介。長尺ツーステップ車である2006年式の日産ディーゼル・スペースランナーRA ADG-RA273TAN改、「大宮200は・279」、およびノンステップ車である2007年式の日産ディーゼル・スペースランナーRA PKG-RA274MAN「大宮230さ5523」です。

UD Trucks Thailand held an event to introduce the new “Quester MY2026 (2026 model),” welcoming over 270 guests from across the country, including major fleet operators and business partners.

Quester MY2026 is designed to address fluctuating energy prices and challenges in the transportation industry, focusing on significantly improving fuel efficiency and reducing overall operating costs. Furthermore, it addresses the driver shortage problem, as the automatic transmission makes driving large trucks easier and safer, reducing fatigue from continuous work.

Parts collected from trucks that have been in use for a long period of time are carefully disassembled and inspected. UD Trucks held the “Extra Mile Award 2026” to recognize employees for their outstanding achievements.

This year, a new video-based nomination format was introduced to foster a culture in which employees acknowledge one another’s actions and attitudes and express appreciation and praise.

Employees who contributed to the company’s growth and demonstrated outstanding performance were recognized in the following four categories.

Newly appointed Isuzu Motors President and CEO, Naohiro Yamaguchi, participated in UD Trucks’ company-wide town hall meeting.

After briefly introducing himself, Yamaguchi-san shared his management philosophy, emphasizing the importance of dialogue: “In an era where uncertainty has become the norm, I want us to move forward with speed while listening to diverse perspectives.”

He also spoke about the merger review between Isuzu and UD Trucks planned for FY2027, encouraging employees by saying that the energy created through greater efficiency should be invested in new businesses and future growth opportunities to build a company that can continue to grow sustainably.

During the Q&A session, Yamaguchi-san candidly answered questions about his work experience overseas and even how he spends his free time, creating a warm atmosphere and fostering open communication with employees.

いすゞ自動車(ISUZU / いすゞ自動車) CEO 山口さんは、就任後初めてＵＤトラックスの全社タウンホールミーティングに参加しました。

山口さんは自身の経歴を紹介した後、「不確実性が当たり前の時代だからこそ、多様な意見に耳を傾け、スピード感を持って前進していきたい」と、対話を重視する経営方針について語りました。さらに、2027年度中に予定されている合併にも触れ、「効率化によって生まれた力を新規事業などへ投資し、持続的に成長する会社を目指していきましょう」とメッセージを送りました。

Q&Aセッションでは、海外駐在時のエピソードや休日の過ごし方など、プライベートに関する質問にも気さくに回答。会場は和やかな雰囲気に包まれ、従業員との交流を深める機会となりました。
