Kuwait Dana L***s (KDL) is a top end lubricants blending plant located in Shuaiba Industrial Area in Mina Abdulla, Kuwait. We manufacture greases and a wide range of automotive, industrial and marine lubricants. KDL is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company that only uses 100% virgin base oil and chemical additive packages from the most trusted sources in the global industry in our products allowing us to offer superior quality to our customers through brands such as Shield and Habarah. Our greases are known to be the best in the Middle East and the quality of our lubricants is second to none. Shield’s lubricants have collected many prestigious quality awards and certificates such as from Daimler (Mercedes), Volvo and Caterpillar for example.
IDS International and Towell Holding Group together completed the acquisition of KDLC in September 2017 from its previous owners Kuwait Finance House. The company was mismanaged for a long period of time which led to the factory being offered for sale. Our management team has officially begun running the factory since December 2017, looking to expand our business in the local and international market. The factory is undergoing a refurbishment and restructuring process over the upcoming period which will allow for the market to take advantage of our low prices relative to our quality grade category. We take pride in saying that we offer the best value per price for our lubricants in the Middle East.
KDL manufactures several brands for the domestic and international markets in the region and Africa. Shield and Habarah are two of our most popular brands in the market. Shield was introduced to the MENA region in 2010 as a lubricant brand that leads with superior quality, while Habarah is one of our oldest brands which began its journey in 1997 with the opening of the factory. During the 1990s and 2000s, the factory was owned by Mr. Salem Almarzouk under the name "Al-Marzouk L**e Oil Company (MLOC)", and was manufacturing virgin and recycled products in the old factory premises in Al-Ahmadi. Since 2007, KDL has only manufactured lubricants from 100% virgin base oils.
The products that we currently have:
1. Automotive Engine Oils
We manufacture a wide range of automotive lubricants for Gasoline and Diesel engines. The most popular products in the region are the 15w/40 and the 20w/50. We have many different grades and wide product range of different kinds of lubricants for different kinds of engines. Our automotive engine oils have prestigious quality approvals from international factories such as Daimler (Mercedes), Volvo and Caterpillar.
2. Industrial Oils
We also manufacture specialized oils for heavy machinery and manufacturing processes for different industries. Some of these oils include (but are not limited to): cutting oil, hydraulic oils, de-dusting oils, mold release oils, anti-freeze coolants and more. As a manufacturer, we have the flexibility to tailor the specifications to meet your needs, and sometimes when feasible, we can try to meet a price target by modifying the formulation of certain products by our chemists.
3. Greases
KDL has been manufacturing one of the highest (if not the highest) quality greases in the whole of the Middle East and North Africa. Our Shield brand has outstanding quality and specifications, setting a high standard bar in the market for competitors to attempt to reach. It is being used in many countries in the world, with high demands from ministries of international governments. Our Habarah greases are also very common in the region.
4. Marine Oils:
We recently launched a new product line consisting of different grades of Marine Oils in a partnership between Shield and Petrogulf Marine, a leader in Marine Lubricants. This strategic partnership has allowed KDLC to manufacture different types of marine oils with very high level of approvals which are usually requested by Maintenance departments of internationally known companies, under the guidance of the marine l***s experts, Petrogulf Marine.
5. Toll Blending
As another option, we offer lubricant distributors the option to blend and pack our lubricants into their respective cans with their brands. For example, we can blend specific formulas that are owned by your company at our factory, and supply it to you in Kuwait (or anywhere else) instead of blending the finished goods internationally and shipping it into Kuwait or Iraq. This will save hundreds of thousands in transportation costs and overheads which can be utilized by the agent for marketing or other expenses instead.
