Jamaica is actively working toward economic growth and development, yet one of its most critical assets—the ports of Kingston—faces ongoing neglect. As the primary gateway for imports and exports, these ports serve as a major revenue generator for the country. However, the infrastructure surrounding them, particularly the roadways, is in a state of disrepair. Despite the vital role these ports play in trade and commerce, the Government of Jamaica has failed to adequately address the deteriorating conditions, creating logistical challenges, increased transportation costs, and a negative impact on businesses and investors. If Jamaica is to achieve sustained economic progress, urgent attention must be given to improving these essential transportation networks. (Pictures appear worst in person) .today
