Avoid catastrophic engine failure

The design of the wet belt means that replacement is a complex job. To access the wet and oil pump belts, we need to strip down the top, side and bottom of the engine. Specialist tools such as torque multipliers and flywheel locking plates are required to ensure everything is set correctly and the crank cannot move during replacement.
Ford recommends wet belt replacement every 100,000 miles or 6-8 years for both EcoBoost and EcoBlue engines.
Warning signs to look out for:
- low oil pressure light
- rattling or grinding engine noises
- misfires or rough idling
- visible rubber particles in the oil filter
