We proudly announce that our Master Technician, Andrew Ruellan, has won the prestigious title of Technician of the Year 2024.

Now in its 22nd year, the Top Technician Award by Aftermarket Online sees thousands of technicians from franchised and independent workshops across the UK enter in the hopes of claiming the title.

The judging for this award is rigorous and takes place over five rounds. The initial three rounds involve completing online questionnaires and questions requiring comprehensive answers of up to 3000 words, with the fourth and final rounds analysing the technician’s practical skills.

Andrew took part in both a half-day and full-day practical assessment of skills in Warwick to beat the other nine semi-finalists and four finalists in timed, fault-finding tasks. He was crowned the winner at the end of the day-long assessment on 26 October.
Andrew said about this achievement: “Winning this award is a dream come true; all those years ago, I never thought I would ever get to be crowned the winner. The practical assessments were tough with the added pressure of the timer. I love diagnosing problems with cars and exploring new technologies such as Electric Vehicles. For someone from an independent garage in Jersey, to win against some of the most experienced and skilled technicians from all across the UK is a massive achievement.”

This is not the first time Aftermarket Online has recognised the garage. For the last three years running, we have been in the finals of Top Garage, and Andrew has previously progressed to the final 10 in Top Technician.
