Un nuovo libro sulle Aprilia fuoriserie
TUTTO QUELLO SULL'APRILIA DI CUI NON TRATTA IL NOSTRO VADEMECUM
Caro amico della Lancia,
dopo 18 anni di ricerche in archivi pubblici e privati, la catalogazione di tre archivi di designer, cinque archivi di fotografi , due archivi privati e l’analisi di tutto il materiale conservato presso il Centro storico e presso l’Archivio di Stato, sono arrivato alla conclusione dei lavori. Sto impaginando il volume “Lancia Aprilia: modelli fuoriserie”, al quale farà poi seguito il volume “Lancia Aprilia: modelli di serie”. E’ la prima volta che viene affrontato in modo organico questo argomento. I circa 7000 autotelai Aprilia prodotti dalla Lancia & C. sono stati vestiti da più di 40 carrozzieri italiani ed europei. Non ho la pretesa di essere riuscito a menzionarli tutti, perchè ad 80 anni di distanza molto materiale è andato perduto. Tuttavia ho analizzato tecnicamente i quattro tipi di autotelaio prodotti, corroborato dai disegni tecnici ed ho descritto i modelli di carrozzeria da un punto di vista dello stile senza trascurare la storia delle aziende e degli uomini che hanno contribuito a rendere l’Aprilia, nei 12 anni di produzione, una vettura leggendaria.
Il libro è composto da circa 500 pagine in carta patinata con più di 800 foto originali in bianco e nero, molte delle quali sono inedite, oltre a disegni tecnici, bozzetti, appunti e documenti vari. Sarà rilegato a filo, con copertina rigida e sovracopertina plastificata. Mi avvalgo di impaginatori e stampatori professionali qui in Piemonte. E’ scritto in lingua Italiana. Il prezzo di copertina sarà di 120€.
Stamperei 400 copie in Italiano e 400 in Inglese.

Dear Lancia enthusiast,
After 18 years of research in public and private archives, cataloguing three designers’ archives, five photographers’ archives and two private archives, and analysing all the material held at the Historical Centre and the State Archives, I have now completed this project. I am currently laying out the volume ‘Lancia Aprilia: Custom Models’, which will be followed by the volume ‘Lancia Aprilia: Production Models’. This is the first time this subject has been tackled in such a comprehensive manner. The approximately 7,000 Aprilia chassis produced by Lancia & C. were fitted with bodywork by more than 40 Italian and European coachbuilders. I do not claim to have managed to mention them all, as much material has been lost over the past 80 years. However, I have carried out a technical analysis of the four types of chassis produced, supported by technical drawings, and I have described the body styles from a stylistic perspective, without neglecting the history of the companies and the people who helped to make the Aprilia a legendary car during its 12 years of production.
The book comprises around 500 pages on glossy paper, featuring more than 800 original black-and-white photographs – many of which have never been published before – as well as technical drawings, sketches, notes and various documents. It will be thread-bound, with a hardback cover and a laminated dust jacket. I am working with professional layout designers and printers here in Piedmont. It is written in Italian. The cover price will be €120.
I plan to print 400 copies in Italian and 400 in English.
