🇮🇹 35 anni fa, nel 1991, Capcom lanciava sul mercato dei cabinati arcade Street Fighter II, un titolo videoludico rivoluzionario sotto molti aspetti che, dopo essere sbarcato anche su svariate console, è diventato una vera e propria pietra miliare. 🥋

Sebbene non si tratti del primo picchiaduro in assoluto, è senza dubbio il gioco che ha dato maggiore linfa vitale a questo genere e che ha definito i canoni moderni a cui si sono rifatte altre saghe successive (come Mortal Kombat). ✊

Tra le sue innovazioni che hanno fatto la storia, è importante ricordare:

⚫la varietà di personaggi: per l'epoca, avere 8 personaggi giocabili con mosse e stili di lotta diversi era tutto fuorché scontato. Ogni combattente aveva uno specifico moveset da padroneggiare e la scelta del personaggio era quindi cruciale

⚫il round system: il sistema al meglio di 3 round è ormai uno standard generalizzato per i picchiaduro

⚫l'ottica competitiva: grazie al miglioramento della modalità Versus (che nel primo capitolo della serie era piuttosto rudimentale), il gioco ha dato vita ai primi tornei competitivi

⚫il bilanciamento strategico: ogni personaggio aveva punti di forza e di debolezza (es: elevata potenza offensiva a discapito di una velocità di movimento ridotta) e questo rafforzava ulteriormente la componente competitiva

⚫l'hitbox accurata: il sistema di collisione realistico rendeva importanti il tempismo e l'uso corretto delle combo da parte dei giocatori

🇬🇧 35 years ago, in 1991, Capcom launched Street Fighter II on the arcade market, a revolutionary video game in many respects which, after being released on various consoles, became a true milestone. 🥋

Although it wasn’t the very first fighting game, it is undoubtedly the game that breathed new life into the genre and set the modern standards that subsequent series (such as Mortal Kombat) have followed. ✊

Among its innovations that made history, it is important to note:

⚫the variety of characters: for the time, having 8 playable characters with different moves and fighting styles was anything but a given. Each fighter had a specific moveset to master, and the choice of character was therefore crucial

⚫the round system: the best-of-three rounds system is now a standard feature in fighting games

⚫the competitive aspect: thanks to improvements to the Versus mode (which was rather rudimentary in the first instalment of the series), the game gave rise to the first competitive tournaments

⚫Strategic balance: each character had strengths and weaknesses (e.g. high offensive power at the expense of reduced movement speed), and this further reinforced the competitive element

⚫Accurate hitbox: the realistic collision system made timing and the correct use of combos by players crucial

🇮🇹 Se ami i Lego, saprai sicuramente quanto sia importante tenerli puliti affinché possano "risplendere" all'interno della tua collezione e durare nel tempo. 🧱 ✨

Tuttavia, lavare correttamente i propri mattoncini senza rovinarli richiede alcuni accorgimenti. 🤔

Per questa ragione, ecco 4 consigli da seguire tratti direttamente dalla guida ufficiale Lego:

⚫lava i mattoncini a mano utilizzando una spugna e un panno soffice. Assicurati che la temperatura dell'acqua non superi i 40° per non compromettere la qualità delle parti. Se lo desideri, puoi aggiungere un detergente delicato e sciaquare ripetutamente i Lego con acqua pulita

⚫se hai a che fare con parti elettroniche o in metallo, opta per un panno inumidito con acqua e un detergente delicato senza profumo o olio

⚫NON inserire i mattoncini in lavatrice o in lavastoviglie

⚫NON asciugare i Lego nel forno, nel microonde o con l'asciugacapelli. Non lasciarli nemmeno alla luce diretta del Sole. Il calore intenso, infatti, può alterare la forma dei mattoncini

However, washing your bricks properly without damaging them requires a few precautions. 🤔

For this reason, here are 4 tips to follow, taken directly from the official Lego guide:

⚫Wash the bricks by hand using a sponge and a soft cloth. Make sure the water temperature does not exceed 40°C so as not to compromise the quality of the parts. If you wish, you can add a mild detergent and rinse the Lego repeatedly with clean water

⚫If you are dealing with electronic or metal parts, use a cloth dampened with water and a mild, fragrance-free and oil-free detergent

⚫DO NOT put the bricks in the washing machine or dishwasher

⚫DO NOT dry the Lego bricks in the oven, microwave or with a hairdryer. Do not leave them in direct sunlight either. Intense heat can alter the shape of the bricks

🇮🇹 Quando pensi alla parola "playset", la prima cosa che ti viene in mente è il Castello di Grayskull dei Masters of The Universe? 🏰

Se la tua risposta è "sì", è del tutto giustificata. Questo storico castello, lanciato sul mercato nel 1982 e alto circa mezzo metro, è, come riporta la scritta sulla confezione, "La fortezza di mistero e di potenza per He-Man e i suoi nemici". ⚔️

Nonostante il playset sia sprovvisto di action figure (vendute separatamente), la sua interattività è davvero ai massimi livelli:

⚫l'ambientazione deve essere montata da zero, un fattore che aggiunge un'ulteriore componente ludica. Le istruzioni, tra l'altro, vedono protagonista lo stesso He-Man nelle vesti di "Cicerone"

⚫il castello è apribile e dà spazio a diverse stanze interne: la sala del trono, il centro di comando, la prigione e l'armeria (dotata di armi compatibili con i vari personaggi)

⚫il ponte levatoio / portone della fortezza è mobile e apribile utilizzando le mezze spade delle figure di He-Man e Skeletor

⚫tra le altre chicche, è bene ricordare i cannoni di difesa sugli spalti e la botola della sala del trono (che fa cadere in prigione il malcapitato giocattolo)

Oggi questo playset, a seconda delle condizioni e della completezza in termini di accessori, può avere un valore che va dai 150 ai 2000 dollari. 💸

🇬🇧 When you think of the word ‘playset’, is the first thing that springs to mind the Castle of Grayskull from Masters of the Universe? 🏰

If your answer is ‘yes’, you’re absolutely right. This iconic castle, launched in 1982 and standing about half a metre tall, is, as the packaging states, ‘The fortress of mystery and power for He-Man and his foes’. ⚔️

Although the playset does not include action figures (sold separately), its interactivity is truly top-notch:

⚫ the set must be assembled from scratch, a factor that adds an extra element of fun. The instructions, incidentally, feature He-Man himself in the role of ‘teacher’

⚫ the castle opens up to reveal various interior rooms: the throne room, the command centre, the dungeon and the armoury (equipped with weapons compatible with the various characters)

⚫ The drawbridge / gate of the fortress is movable and can be opened using the half-swords from the He-Man and Skeletor figures

⚫ Among other highlights, it is worth noting the defensive cannons on the battlements and the trapdoor in the throne room (which drops the unfortunate toy into the dungeon)

Today, depending on its condition and the completeness of its accessories, this playset can be worth anywhere from $150 to $2,000. 💸
