The Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna ( ) offers three international and inter-university Master’s Degree programs, taught entirely in English: Electric Vehicle Engineering, Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles and Advanced Automotive Engineering. MUNER and the Masters courses have been strongly promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region and have been created thanks to a synergy between the universities - Università di Bologna, Università di Ferrara, Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Università di Parma - and the renowned companies ART spa, Automobili Lamborghini, AVL, Bonfiglioli S.P.A., Bosch, Carraro S.p.A., CNH, Dallara, Danisi Engineering, Ducati, Ferrari, Haas F1 Team, HPE GROUP, MAHLE Aftermarket, Marelli, Maserati, Pagani, Pirelli, St microelectronics, Toyota Material Handling Manufacturing, Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team, Yamaha Motor Racing. All of them came together to design the 9 automotive careers of the future. The future of the automotive world starts with people.

In the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley, where a passion for motors and a tradition of engineering excellence meet, a new generation of talent is getting ready to shape what comes next.

On October 15, the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena welcomed the MUNER - Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna Class of 2026, for the start of a new journey: one built on knowledge, innovation and the shared ambition to push the boundaries of automotive engineering.

A week full of graduation smiles. 🎓

This week, 16 MUNER students celebrated their graduation: four from Electronic Engineering for Intelligent Vehicles on October 12 and twelve from Advanced Autotomotive Engineering on October 14.

A few days, a lot of emotions, and so many reasons to celebrate.

The future of automotive is not one technology. It’s a combination of ideas, disciplines and perspectives.

Last July, students came together in Bologna for FAIM - Future of Automotive for Intelligent Mobility, exploring the many challenges and technologies shaping the vehicles and mobility systems of tomorrow.

From sustainable propulsion and alternative fuels to energy modelling, vehicle design, connectivity, hydrogen technologies, safety and much more.

Two weeks of lectures, hands-on activities and company visits.

Different topics.
Different perspectives.
One question: What will automotive look like tomorrow?

In engineering, you can simulate almost anything. Two weeks inside the Motor Valley isn’t one of them.

From 17 to 29 August, a group of future automotive engineers traded lecture halls for production lines - taking part in an intensive programme hosted at the University of Bologna and brought to life through visits and hands-on experiences at Ducati and Lamborghini.

Lightweight design. Digital twins. Electrified powertrains. Life cycle assessment. AI ethics, debated over coffee breaks between one workshop and the next.

This was the 2026 edition of the International Summer School in Industrial Engineering for Advanced Automotive, part of the MUSE project.

At Varano, months of work came down to five days on track. 🏁

From scrutineering and static disciplines to acceleration, autocross and endurance, Formula SAE Italy 2026 put every project - and every team - to the test.

Around 1,600 students, 51 teams and 13 countries came together in the heart of Motor Valley.

For MUNER, it was a week to follow our four teams on track and celebrate the work behind them:

Where talent meets innovation. 🏁

Yesterday, students, faculty advisors and racing teams from Emilia-Romagna’s four universities were welcomed at the headquarters of the Regione Emilia-Romagna by President Michele de Pascale and Vice President Vincenzo Colla, together with the Rectors of the region’s universities.

From Formula SAE and MotoStudent to autonomous vehicles, electric boats, planetary rovers and more, these student-led projects are turning knowledge into real-world innovation - and putting Emilia-Romagna’s talent on the international stage.

For MUNER, this is exactly what learning by doing means: multidisciplinary teams, engineering challenges, competition, collaboration and a direct connection with the companies and industrial ecosystem of the Motor Valley.

And behind every prototype there is something even more important: young people building the skills, experience and confidence to shape the future of mobility and technology.

A big thank you to Regione Emilia-Romagna, President Michele de Pascale, Vice President Vincenzo Colla, the four universities, all the faculty advisors and, above all, the students who make these projects possible every day.
