And so lets Talk about the 2026 Club Progams and in particular regards the TansItalia Trieste-Trapani.
And so 2026 has started, and even though it still feels far off, the TransItalia is already being planned. This year follows the same ambitious format that proved so successful in 2025, with a few carefully chosen improvements.
Overall format
The TransItalia is divided into three main stages to make it easy for people to join and leave as needed, and “hop on, hop off” participation is welcome. You can take part competitively or simply to enjoy the roads, food, and wine with a great group of petrolheads.library
Stage 1 – Trieste and Alpine passes
Stage 1 starts in Trieste on 10/9/26 and heads across some of the most famous Alpine passes, criss-crossing Northern Italy via Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland, and France. It is designed so that participants can experience classic high-mountain roads and spectacular scenery without feeling rushed.
Stage 2 – 12in12 Alpine Challenge
Stage 2 is the 12in12 Alpine Challenge, a concentrated section focused on tackling multiple iconic passes within a tight timeframe. This segment suits drivers who want a more intense driving challenge while still enjoying the camaraderie and shared adventure spirit.library
Stage 3 – Cuneo to Trapani
Stage 3 runs from Cuneo all the way to Trapani in around 15 days, exploring some very little-known passes and immersing everyone in Italian food and culture. Extra cultural stops have been added this year, and there will again be meetings with local clubs along the route, including a closed-road event in Arezzo.library
Why join
TransItalia 2025 finished without anyone being left behind, and there are already repeat bookings, which says a lot about how successful the event was. The oldest participant last year was 91 years old and completed almost the entire route, proving that this really is an inclusive but truly epic driving adventure. And its also the most economic historic driving event of all time..
The TransItalia Trieste–Trapani is not just another “epic adventure” in name; it genuinely is an Epic Driving Adventure across Europe’s finest Mountain passes.

Day 18 of the TransItalia Trieste to Trapani mountain rally sees us starting a transfer day to Sicily after a rest day in Tropea and on from our cliff top hotel to an agriturismo.

We drove either down the mountain roads or the costal road to the ferry over and then to Taormina for lunch and on to our AgriTurismo near Etna ready for a drive around the volcano and some Targa Florio roads tomorrow.

Shaun has parked the Bentley and flown back to the UK for 3 days for a funeral.
The rest of us our soldiering on.

Where is the world do you get a 6000 mile 21 day rally for less than 5000€ all in and at this level?😂🫣

Wish them luck tomorrow.

My God we are up to day 16, Tropea in Calabria.

Where did all the time go?
I can’t even remember stage 1 anymore.
Stelvio what? 😂

We are up to over 140 passes now and we have done soo much nearly 5000kms and the Bentley is about 8000kms now and never misses a beat.

Today Jon left us.
Tomorrow Shaun leaves us and parks the Bentley up as he has to go to a funeral on the UK and is coming back on 3/10.

Alberto comes back tomorrow we go for dinner in the old town of Tropea.
Yesterday we were in Maratea and the day before in Matera town of the James Bond film and world heritage site , we did a scenic tour and had a great dinner.

Last night in Maratea and this morning a visit to the Christ statue.
Many many great unknown passes of equal quality to the alpine passes
Spectacular, really spectacular and the food… OMG…
We have done soo much I just don’t know where to start and my mind is in overload 🫣😂

I really don’t know where to start.
It’s epic . 😂

Tomorrow a tour of Tropea and then the following day finally over to Sicily.

Wish them luck on this epic adventure.

Day 5
Saw the TransItalia participants waving goodbye the the Giulia. They then started heading back from Italy to Embrun via the Piccolo San Bernardo into France with up to 15 passes where in the evening the drive 3 night passes and we had dinner on the mountain.
Here an A310 joined the group.

Tomorrow sees the teams driving to Cuneo in Italy where other teams Including a Maserati and a Mini and Porsche etc will join us for a 12in12 Alpine Challenge.
The 12in12 is the official formula of up to 27 passes in 12 hours and at the finish we will have a beerfest.

All the cars made it this far but….
Wish them luck.

Day 3 of the TransItalia saw participants riding some very important cols including the Stelvio on our move from Semogo in Italy to Desabtis with in Switzerland a change in the results table.
This was also due to people swapping navigator and driving seats as part of the fun.

Matijs and Dan moved up to first place in the Saab with 15 passes achieved in less than 11 hours and Thomas down the table, Shaun and Clive in the Bentley also slipped from their optimal second place down the table.
But that a 1924 Bentley tackled the Stelvio both ways and then did another 12passes in the day is no light achievement.

Geir went with Andras in the Alfa Guilia which spent the first two hours in the garage trying to sort out the rich fueling and this hopefully now is sorted.

Rolf’s Golf GTI was still suffering heating problems now after the fan issue after working on the car with Geir a faulty thermostat was diagnosed.

Geert in an Alfa 916 with Anita and Elsa driving with Wout joined the event from Holland and achieved very satisfactory results on their first day.

All in all again fantastic results and great weather again.

Wish them luck today as we head across Switzerland and back into Italy at the Valle d’Aosta.

Day 2 of the TransItalia saw up to 20 passes and between 450 and 600kms of mountains being tackled by the group.
Within minutes of starting the usual Italian sun came out to welcome us.

The usual fantastic selection of passes and some great moments.

Today was fan day again.
The Golf GTI of Rolf Fransen broke the fan sending unit going up the Stelvio on the last leg.
The Alfa Guilia this time had altitude sickness.
But as usual with help and without everyone made it to the evenings hotel.
So every participant is home safely.

Day 3 will see us back up the Stelvio nice and early. With two new Dutch participating cars who joined us this evening with the ‘hop on hop off formula’

Wish them luck..

Day one of the TransItalia saw us driving from Trieste to San Vito di Cadore with a choice of about 30 passes.
Driving through Slovenia, Austria and back into Italy.

As usual Thomas and Geir pulled away with a total of 20 passes visited 10hrs and 08m minutes to complete.
Second amazingly Shaun and Clive in the Bentley with 12 passes in 13m
Third Matjis and Dan in the Saab with 10 passes in 11hrs and 58m.
In 30m they start again heading towards Semogo near Bormio.

Only a couple of hiccups.
The Bentley had a disconnected fuel line.
The Alfa electric fan stopped working.
All sorted now.🤪
Wish them luck
